We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Consultant with experience in economic analysis and modelling to support our Toronto office on a range of transport planning, strategy, policy, and business case/evaluation projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong theoretical understanding of evaluation concepts, behavioural economics, and transportation economics with an established track record of high-quality analysis that contributes to policy formulation.

Our team is undergoing rapid growth and is looking for candidates who are ready to work with clients across North America on complex transport policy, strategy, and business case problems. The team in the Toronto office has delivered strategic advice to top public servants to advance some of North America's most complex transport challenges and opportunities.

Requirements

Leading economic and financial appraisal as a core team member on strategy and business case work

Conducting applied economic research in support of public sector project appraisal - including resiliency, wider economic benefits, behavioural studies, and transit pricing

Supporting clients on economic/financial appraisal issues

Managing junior staff as part of larger projects

Supporting the development of business case and transport strategy work undertaken from the Toronto office

Reviewing trends and new ideas in the market to ensure our work remains cutting edge

Your Skills and Experience

Expertise in economic appraisal, financial analysis, or business case development

Strong communication skills - you can fluently discuss appraisal approaches and results in a compelling manner both verbally (written/oral) and graphically (graphs, flow charts, infographics)

Well developed proficiencies in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet modelling best practice)

Familiarity with large dataset analysis and modelling using software like R, Python and/or STATA

Strong understanding of transport policy and the role of economic analysis in policy formulation

Experience with public sector clients in the GTHA is desirable

Project and team management skills

The Regional Reimbursement Economic Consultant is primarily focused on, but not limited to, participation in the development and implementation of reimbursement strategies and supporting sales teams and customers in the sales process providing education on appropriate coding, coverage, and payment for Surgical Innovations in the US market. Additionally, this position will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining adequate coverage and payment from the payer/economic buyer for Surgical Innovations- related products and therapies.

This individual reports to the US Director, Health Economics, Policy & Reimbursement for Medical Surgical Portfolio.

A Day In The Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

* Evaluates the economic impact of the use of products and therapies on hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physicians.
* Develops customer marketing programs and tools related to coverage, coding and reimbursement.
* Implements programs to resolve/decrease economic barriers for use of products and therapies in all care settings.
* Conducts financial audits, benchmarking, and presentations for hospital and physician customers.
* Provides training and education programs to sales force, physicians, ambulatory surgery centers, case managers, and financial and billing employees in clinics and hospitals.
* Works closely with the reimbursement strategy team to implement policy and payment changes with field sales force and customers through education and services.
* Works with customers/accounts to develop advocacy campaigns that support coverage and payment strategies.
* Works with key customers/accounts to develop partnership strategies to promote cost-effective delivery of company's therapies and opportunities for therapy adoption.
* Work with payers and providers to establish or change coverage and payment policies.
* Communicate with local government key management and influencing identified payers and economic buyers.
* Track payer/provider trends by geography. Integrate feedback from economic buyers into Surgical Innovations Business Planning. (What therapies should be pursued, how current and future therapies should be position, what the price points are, etc.)
* Partner with U.S. Distribution at district level to define and execute strategies and tactics. Develop and execute strategic territory business plan.
* In conjunction with the SI reimbursement team, develop reimbursement materials and tools for customers and the sales force that address managed care and primary account manager focused on creating therapy access for patients, identify and coordinate the education needs for new and existing accounts (i.e., billing personnel in CEOs, medical records, purchasing agents, medical directors, etc.)
* Provide training and education for executive management in facilities, medical directors, physicians and billing personnel in clinics and hospitals.
* Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
* Train and mentor new reimbursement managers and analysts.
* Demonstrate ability to develop and implement solutions to complex reimbursement problems requiring the use of ingenuity and innovation while ensuring that solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and Business Conduct Standards.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

* Bachelors degree required
* Minimum of 10 years of reimbursement experience with a payor, provider or medical device manufacturer
* Or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of reimbursement experience with a payor, provider or medical device manufacturer
