Research Analysts

The Economics Research Department at Atlanta Fed is recruiting several Research Analysts and seeks exceptional college graduates with a strong background in economics, mathematics, and statistics. Most RAs stay with the department for two to three years before leaving to attend graduate school or pursue other opportunities. Several positions are available for RAs to start mid-summer to fall 2023.

The Department

The staff of the Economics Research Department at the Atlanta Fed advises the president, Raphael Bostic, on monetary policy and conducts innovative analysis and research on a variety of topics, including macroeconomics and monetary policy, applied microeconomics and finance. A requirement of this position is that the employee must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation from the Bank's vaccination policy. Qualifications:

  • Motivated and exceptional college graduates with a strong academic record in economics, mathematics, finance, statistics, computer science, or in related fields.

  • Proficiency with at least one statistical software package or programming language (e.g. Stata, R, Python, SQL, Julia or Matlab).

  • Strong communication skills and extensive experience working collaboratively.

  • Experience in working with micro data is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • RAs assist staff economists in the analysis of current public policy issues and events including topics such as monetary policy, the state of the US and global economy, development in financial and housing markets, etc. This may include running and maintaining financial, banking and macroeconomic forecasting models or preparing background material for briefings with the Atlanta Fed president.

  • RAs assist staff economists in their research activity, allowing them to work on a broad array of applied and theoretical topics. Most RAs will provide statistical and computational analysis to support staff economists.

**SENIOR HEALTH ECONOMICS OUTCOMES RESEARCH ANALYST (remote)**

**Careers That Change Lives**

The **Senior HEOR Analyst** will provide hands-on support to Medtronic in the design, execution, and dissemination of HEOR studies to meet the business evidence strategy needs in the Medical Surgical Portfolio. In this role, you will collaborate with Medical Surgical cross-functional teams with reimbursement, healthcare policy, strategy, marketing, clinical affairs, and other functions on Real World Evidence generation strategies, research methods, study design, and research standards with Real World Data. You will work closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to generate peer-reviewed publications to fulfill evidence gap. The Senior HEOR Analyst also will partner with Operating Units in marketing research and sales activities.

**A Day in the Life**

+ Designs and implements observational and economic research studies that fulfill evidence gap for clinical and/or pre-clinical product portfolio decisions, marketing, regulatory agency submissions, and product reimbursement strategies.

+ Compares and evaluates the value of products and therapies with the clinical, economic, and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies, registries, observational studies, modeling, surveys, and meta-analysis.

+ Provides hands-on support (study protocol, statistical analysis plan, data analysis, study report and presentation) to in-house HEOR studies by design and conduct scientifically rigorous research.

+ Authors and documents all studies related files by complying with internal SOPs and best practices.

+ Works closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic researchers throughout the research/dissemination cycle.

+ Develops scientific communication plans and outputs, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

+ Develops interactive visual displays of data using Tableau or other platforms to create user-friendly outputs and tools.

+ Conducts a range of ad hoc projects and other tasks as needed to support missions of HEOR function.

+ Communicating with data source venders to identify and resolve data issues and conduct assessments of potential new sources of data.

+ Works closely with market access to help develop strategies and pricing programs and standardize best practices.

+ Works with clinical research to add relevant health outcomes and economic endpoints to clinical trials, and clinical biostatisticians to analyze and report study results.
