Essential Functions: Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices. Responsible for appropriate staffing to provide proper care to residents; including replacement of call-offs while on duty or reappropriation of scheduled staff. Works with and assists the attending physicians in the delivery of care to residents, and oversees preparation of residents' charts for physician visits. Observes, assesses, evaluates and monitors resident health problems. Communicates findings to the attending physician, and coordinates appropriate follow-up. Physician Assistant With the supervision of a Physician, (as per O.R.C. 4730) the PA-C provides medical care, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. Assesses health status by obtaining relevant health and medical history. Performs a physical exam based upon the age and patient history as per the Supervisory Agreement in place with OSMB. Practice with a variety of specialty-based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult. Practices in any setting in which patients require complex monitoring and therapies, high intensity medical intervention, or continuous vigilance within the range of high-acuity care. Participates in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a bi-annual basis to assure quality care and per ORC requirements. This review is completed via the Focused Professional Performance Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) for Advanced Practice Providers as part of Joint Commission requirements.
