Eden Institute company history timeline

1850

Eden Theological Seminary was established in the summer of 1850 in Marthasville, Missouri, to fit the needs of frontier churches.

1883

To fit the growing urbanization of the country, Eden moved to the outskirts of St Louis in 1883.

1920

Murray Eden was born in Brooklyn in 1920.

1933

The Seminary’s first African American student enrolled in 1933, and the next year Eden merged with Central Theological Seminary and Oakwood Institute of Cincinnati, Ohio.

1934

In 1934, Eden also became part of the Evangelical And Reformed Church through the merger of the Evangelical Synod of North America, which it served, and the Reformed Church in the United States.

1955

Biophysics is a little older in the sense that in about 1955 the Biophysical Society was created.

1957

↑ "After completing Robert Academy (middle school) in Istanbul in 1957, Kenan E. Şahin started Robert High School in Istanbul, then moved to California where he received his high school diploma from Inglewood High School in California.

Eventually this partnership and a continued focus on ecumenical discussion, conversations which included Eden President Samuel D. Press, lead to the formation of the United Church of Christ in 1957.

1958

There was a big symposium on biophysics held in Boulder in 1958.

1963

He graduated from MIT in 1963 with a BS degree.

1965

In 1965, Cardinal Joseph Ritter of the St Louis Archdiocese was the first Roman Catholic Cardinal to address a Protestant Seminary graduating class.

1968

He received his PhD from MIT in 1968 and continues his career as a teacher and researcher at Robert High, MIT, Harvard, and Amherst University of Massachusetts.

1981

Ari S. was the first individual with autism to be hired by Wawa in 1981.

1992

Eden’s early intervention program, named in honor of Wawa for its major start-up support, began in 1992.

1999

2001

Eden University formerly known as Eden Institute was established in 2001 with the support of the brethren from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

2010

In 2010, the University went through a management buy-out which gave birth to a new registration of the institution under the name Eden Institute.
