Adjunct Instructors are healthcare professionals with the responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for Edgewood University students. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of the teacher and facilitator of learning.
Must have an earned a master, doctorate, JD, or ABD as well as solid and evidence of broad-based knowledge, experience, and credentials in the discipline of healthcare administration; peer-reviewed publication; speaking experience at relevant conferences; or other evidence of expertise. Should be able to demonstrable experience in and knowledge of effective, interactive, evidence-based, and asynchronous online teaching, including expertise in building a high level of student engagement and interaction. Candidates should also have the ability to build their own courses in Canvas, or a willingness to learn how to do so. Training in Quality Matters is a plus.
Must reside or be willing to relocate to one of the following states: Wisconsin, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, or Virginia.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and teach courses and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
* Write, revise, and distribute a course syllabus in alignment with the course description, including course requirements, grading criteria, and grading rubrics, and using the Edgewood University template.
* Maintain student attendance and grading records according to University's policies.
* Collaborate with other faculty to provide consistent, effective learning and support for students.
* Monitor, assess, support student performance, and advise students on academic issues as needed.
* Keep current in research and practice related to program content.
* Ability to seek out and use timely and current textbooks and peer-reviewed articles as course materials.
* Maintain confidentiality relating to student matters (understand FERPA).
* Maintain federal and Higher Learning Commission guidelines/requirements based on the Carnegie Unit of 135 hours (minimum total for a 3-credit course) through designing a clear plan of instruction and expected time-on-task per credit per week.
* Comply with college policies and guidelines.
* Willingness to participate in bi-monthly meetings with the program director and other faculty.
Necessary Education or Work Experience
* Relevant earned master, doctoral degree, or ABD required from a regionally accredited university or college, or its equivalent: MA, MS, MHA, PhD, DHA, MD, JD, DSW, DNP, PharmD, PsyD, EdD, etc.
* Demonstrated advanced and broad-based knowledge healthcare law and ethics; peer-reviewed publications; higher education teaching experience; and/or conference presentations conducted within the past five years.
* Successful teaching experience in graduate level higher education is preferred.
* Successful teaching experience in asynchronous and highly interactive online education is required.
* Ability to build online courses in Canvas.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to critique student professionalism, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and knowledge content in healthcare administration.
* Ability to articulate own philosophy of education.
* Willingness to spend the time to forge relationships with students and faculty.

* Teaching courses as agreed upon with the OTD Program Director.
* Refining and annually reviewing course syllabi, updating appropriately.
* Selection of appropriate instructional methods.
* Development and update of course materials with integration of online resources.
* Preparation of teaching and learning activities before the start of each semester and immersive lab experiences.
* Promotion of evidence-based practice.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Education or Work Experience:
* Earned or in progress terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching or Doctor of Occupational therapy degree with specialization in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
* Occupational therapist with an active, unrestricted license, eligible for licensure in Wisconsin.
* Adherence to the core values and ethics of the occupational therapy profession.
* Hold a minimum of 2 virtual office hours each week
* Collaboration with faculty and program leadership to ensure course objectives are met.
* Provision of timely and constructive feedback to support student development

* Participation in immersive labs on campus one-two times per semester.

This program combines online didactic instruction with periodic in-person immersion experiences at the Edgewood University Center for Health Sciences in Madison, WI. In-person immersion faculty will teach at the Edgewood University Center for Health Sciences, located at 1255 Deming Way in Madison, WI. Faculty may lead instruction or evaluation in nursing skills, health assessment, or simulation debriefing, working with student groups of up to 8. Immersion sessions occur periodically throughout the year.

Carthage College seeks a dedicated computer science educator to join the faculty as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science starting August 2026. The Computer Science department is continuing to grow. We seek a candidate that will be able to teach lower level undergraduate courses as well as fill in the gaps of current curriculum, such as artificial intelligence or cyber security.
A faculty member in the Computer Science department is expected to teach, develop new curriculum, advise students, and conduct research. Teaching responsibilities include a mix of lower level core computer science courses and upper level elective courses. The expected teaching load is 28 contact hours, which would take the form of 7 lecture courses spread across the Fall, Spring, and January terms. Computer Science at Carthage is a practice-based program. Students learn not just through lectures, but also hands-on projects.
The successful applicant will be involved in strengthening the computer science curriculum at Carthage by updating course materials and developing new courses on topics not currently covered. Applicants with background in artificial intelligence and cyber security are desired, though applicants from all computer science backgrounds will be considered.
