SUMMARY OF JOB SCOPE
This position directly impacts student service and is the first point of customer contact for the Registrar's Office. This position involves maintaining and producing student academic records, and providing counseling to resolve both simple and complex questions with only minimal supervisory guidance. This position has a direct impact on the integrity of the institution's permanent academic records.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as primary point contact for all Registrar's Office questions and procedures.
Answer student questions regarding registration for classes and add/drop activity via phone, email, or in-person.
Process a variety of forms related to students' registration. This involves being cognizant of all enrollment and financial deadlines for every type of student to ensure that transactions are processed correctly.
Partner with college colleagues to resolve student issues as needed.
Accurately process and send official student transcripts.
Adhere to FERPA (Family Education and Privacy Act) regulations in all job aspects.
Use independent and professional judgment and pro-active problem solving for decisions related to late registration fees, student enrollment issues, and account and registration holds. Identify common issues for students and develop procedures for resolving them.
Research and analyze current processes and continuously improve services to students in all areas represented by the Registrar's Office.
Perform and analyze data audits, record updates and troubleshoot solutions for data issues.
Request files for former students from our off-campus storage site.
Verify enrollments and degrees for outside agencies & loan deferments.
Provide general office support, including scheduling staff meetings, ordering supplies, and equipment maintenance.
Provide assistance with day-to-day processing for Registrar's Office coworkers as needed.
Perform independent special projects and provide assistance for day-to-day processing in all areas of the Registrar's Office as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Education or Work Experience:
Associate's degree or three years of administrative work experience required
At least 2 years of experience in customer service with the ability to react to customers quickly, accurately, and compassionately
Student registration experience preferred
Preference for a bilingual candidate with the ability to write and speak in Spanish proficiently
Required Knowledge and Skills:

The Nirschl and Kolb laboratories at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invite applications for a Scientist I or II to contribute to the discovery and development of novel PET imaging tracers targeting pathological protein aggregates in neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and ALS. These efforts support multi-institutional collaborations focused on improving early diagnosis and therapeutic development. The successful candidate will lead discovery/optimization by setting up and executing custom tissue-based assays, including autoradiography and radioligand-binding assays, competition assays, and immunoassays or immunostaining, to evaluate compound binding affinity and specificity in human and animal biospecimens. Additional responsibilities include radioligand displacement studies, immunohistochemical validation, and biochemical extraction of pathological proteins from brain tissue. The role also involves conducting surface plasmon resonance (SPR) experiments to quantify molecular interactions. These efforts are critical to lead compound optimization and translational imaging biomarker validation. Oversee LCS career development including:
Academic support for Cooperative Education (CoOp) coursework
Organize, train, recruit for job coaching
Provide direct job coaching
Recruit / work with CoOp to secure CoOp placements
Serve as CoOp point of contact
Provide life skills coursework and person-centered plan goal work direction and support in job-related skills (resume building, interview skills, soft skills, etc.)
Build relationships for students with local, "hometown" DVR (or equivalent)
Ensure that each student develops a long-range transitional plan.
Assist students to find competitive, inclusive employment upon graduation
Develop and implement strategies for ongoing program improvement.
Assist in recruiting, advising, and retaining students in the program including providing informational sessions to prospective students and their families.
Work with family members and students from inquiry to graduation and beyond to problem-solve and ensure a successful transition and educational experience.
Assist the development of program curriculum and learning experiences.
Develop, monitor, and update person-centered plans based on student strengths, needs, and future vision.
Hire, lead, and evaluate program personnel including a graduate assistant and undergraduate student supports responsible for mentoring, academic coaching, job coaching, and assisting with residential and student life programming.
Track and report progress toward program goals using a range of metrics.
Assist with program promotion through informational sessions and meeting with potential donors as requested.
Qualifications and Skills
The program coordinator will:
Hold a bachelor's degree or higher in special education, rehabilitation psychology, or vocational rehabilitation, or related degree; advanced degree preferred.
Have at least 2 years relevant teaching or related experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities at the secondary or post-secondary level.
Possess knowledge and skill relating to assessment, development of person centered and individualized course learning plans, creating accommodations and modifications, and Universal Design.
Be committed and able to promote positive change through an inclusive learning environment.
Possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
Have the flexibility to work, daytime, evening, and weekend hours as required to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
Have the ability to use computer software and other technology to effectively manage the program.
Be able to travel to volunteer and/or employment sites.
