Supervises assigned personnel within and responsible for the effective planning and operation of the section(s). New hires as of 06/01/2013 have to have ONE of the following: Two (2) years full-time Invasive Cardiovascular Technology experience An Associate Degree or equivalent college hours (62 semester hours) in health, science, natural science, nursing, engineering, or any primary science or higher. Graduate of an accredited (by CHEA, USDOE, or CMA) program in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology. Will accurately report life threatening arrhythmias by demonstrating proficiency in the assessment of Cardiac function, using homodynamic as well as Electrophysiology data. Understands the abnormal physiology or disease process such as; Cardiomyopathy, Myocardial Infarction, Valvular disorders, bypass tracts, WPW and their relationship to the condition. 5. Assures that Angiographic and procedural data is properly archived for long-term storage and assures the presence of all components of procedure information in both hard copy and computerized formats. 6. Is required to assist and train new staff and existing staff members, in the scrub/recorder arena Additional Job Functions: 1. May handle, pick up, deliver, and/or stock non-controlled medications as directed by a licensed team member. 2. Takes "Call" on a rotating basis as assigned. 3. Interventional Technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.Interventional Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. Interventional Technologists perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, and other procedures and acquires and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Job Duties Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality. Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers. Assists or performs diagnostic, fluoroscopic, or interventional procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Performing manual hemostasis during and after the procedure.
