Edina Realty company history timeline
In 1955, Edina, Minnesota housewife and mother of three Emma Rovick borrowed $2,000 and bought a struggling real estate firm in order to make enough money to buy a piano for her daughter.
In 1984 she formalized the transition and sold the company to Roger and David.
Although her retirement with Odd in Florida was short lived (she died in 1987), Emma’s ethos remains an intractable part of Edina Realty’s DNA.
Since 1995, the Edina Realty Real Estate Riders have raised nearly $3 million for the Minnesota Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society to help those fighting Multiple Sclerosis by cycling the MS150 – an annual two-day 150 mile route from Duluth to the Twin Cities.
In recognition of her accomplishments, Emma Rovick was posthumously inducted into the Shenehon’s Center for Real Estate’s Hall of Fame at St Thomas University in 2011, and is part of the second class, which included the Dayton brothers.
