Tutor.com is hiring High Dosage Tutors for high dosage, small group online tutoring sessions with K12 students. This position is a daytime, scheduled hours position perfect for retired and former teachers, substitute teachers, or anyone with algebra subject matter expertise who is looking for a flexible role working from home. Our convenient online classroom allows tutoring from any computer with a stable, high-speed internet connection. No travel necessary! Tutoring sessions include online tools such as an interactive whiteboard, voice, video, and chat communication, and application sharing. This is a part time role, 25 hours per week. Major Responsibilities: * Tutor small groups of students in a remote environment * Meet with the same group of students up to three times a week at a scheduled time during the regular school day * Engage students using online tools such as interactive whiteboard, voice, video, and chat communication * Utilize student assessment data to determine gaps in knowledge * Collaborate with teachers to align tutoring sessions with class curriculum * Provide quality reports to Tutor.com staff, teachers, and school administrators on student achievement * Interact with Instructional Specialists to improve pedagogical methods and quality communication Requirements: * Participate in training and professional development to understand and apply the methodology of high dosage tutoring * Must become an approved DOJ and FBI fingerprinted tutor * Currently reside and eligible to work in the U.S. * Available to tutor at least ten hours per week during the school day.     Part-Time Industrial Electricity Instructor (Evenings) JVS Adult Career Center The JVS Adult Career Center is seeking a skilled part-time Industrial Electrician Instructor to help launch an Industrial Electricity program. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise and shape a training initiative designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the electrical field. Position Details: * Schedule: 2-3 evenings per week (Estimated 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM) * Start Date: To Be Determined * Location: JVS Adult Career Center * Status: Part-time / As needed Qualifications: * Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as an Industrial Electrician or in a closely related field * Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, safety, and troubleshooting * No teaching degree required - we're looking for someone with a passion for the trade and a desire to teach others * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Willingness to help design and build the new Industrial Electricity program. Position: Adult Career Center - Teacher Salary Rate: As per Salary Schedule Reports to: Adult Director Employment: FLSA Status: Exempt Retirement: STRS Description: Teach the appropriate course of study by using a variety of instructional techniques that meet individual learning styles. Note: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance Essential Functions: * Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation * Attend meetings and in-services as required * Recommend long-term adjustments, changes, additions, and deletions in the career-technical education program * Maintain working relationship with community and state agencies and area businesses, industries, and labor organizations in order to provide appropriate training * Ensure safety of students * Work to identify and define local job opportunities and the role of the schools in meeting these opportunities * Coordinate all work components * Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, parents, and community * Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., cumulative folders and IEP's * Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy * Responsible for the collection, review, and submission of all forms and reports relative to career-technical education to appropriate state agencies * Assist in disciplinary procedures and actions and record keeping * Coordinate requests for repairs to lab equipment * Oversee the distribution and inventory control of all supplies and equipment used by vocational students * Maintain membership in and participate in the affairs of professional societies devoted to the advancement of vocational education * Assist in the recruitment of students * Establish an advisory committee * Coordinate the gathering, selecting, and analysis of data with respect to jobs available Other Duties and Responsibilities * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Able to acquire the appropriate certificate from the Ohio Dept. of Ed. * Ability to work effectively with others * Counseling skills * Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing * Effective, active listening skills * Organizational and problem solving skills * General computer and word processing skills, including spreadsheets, data base and presentation software * Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology Equipment Operated * Motor Vehicle * Computer/printer * Telephone * Fax machine * Copy machine * Typewriter Additional Working Conditions * Weekends/evening/summer work * Repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, typing, calculator, writing * Requirement to travel, both daily and overnight This job description is subject to change and in no manner states or implies that these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by the incumbent.
