Responsibilities

* Support a career learning/workforce development internship program to engage students, educators, and faculty, with a special emphasis on recruitment to those from underrepresented and underserved groups.
* Support student-authored and independently conceived graduate research proposals.
* Support and assist in the use of NASA-provided online application and registration system for NASA internships, fellowships, academic, research, professional development opportunities, and other learning experiences.
* Research government science content and educational best practices around identified themes or missions to support professional training, STEM engagement, citizen science, engineering design challenges, and virtual learning opportunities.
* Adhere to government STEM curriculum development guidelines including beta testing and the use of focus groups to optimize content prior to release.
* Provide design and delivery of curriculum, guides, lesson plans, support materials and professional development for formal and informal learning communities.
* Expand the reach of educational projects and content by scaffolding and demonstrating research-based effective practices in the delivery of STEM content, presentations, and programming.
* Develop tests, questionnaires, and procedures that measure the effectiveness of curricula, and use these tools to determine whether program objectives are being met.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Inspect Individual Education Program (IEP) and supporting documents at assigned school(s) to ensure elements of compliance are evident. Communicate and problem solve with services providers to correct elements. Gather and compile formative assessment data. Prepare IEP documents, meeting agendas and schedule meetings. Assist special education teams in using IEP systems in order to ensure IEP processing through finalization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Inspect the IEP, multi-disciplinary evaluation report and supporting documents to ensure all elements of compliance are evident and appropriate. Ensure IEP's are free of grammatical errors and have correct dates, names, etc.
* Effectively communicate and/or problem solve with service providers regarding relevant issues to correct out of compliant elements prior to finalizing the IEP. Ensure IEP's are sent to the District office.
* Coordinate with school psychologist in the processing and preparation of IEP related documents from receiving districts.
* Collect teacher feedback for evaluation and IEP reports.
* Schedule IEP meetings with staff and create calendars.
* Attend IEP meetings and take necessary notes
* Effectively communicate relevant information within the IEP to the Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Administrative Assistant to sustain and preserve the internal data tracking systems used in completing Colorado Department of Education reports.
* Collaborate with and provide guidance to individuals appointed to assist with the filing, copying, and other tasks as appropriate in disseminating IEP documents to staff and other related parties.
* Maintain and update data on IEP district tracking sheet.
* Assist special education teams in using District IEP program, processing of IEP's to finalization, security procedures related to maintenance of confidentiality through the IEP development process and appropriate distribution of the students legal IEP and related documents.
* Prepare paperwork for eligibility evaluation process for all initial and re-evaluation IEP's.
* Gather and compile formative assessment data.
* Assist with behavior support with students (as needed)
* Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience working with student data management systems preferred.
