The Center for Recovery and Wellness takes a holistic, strengths-based approach to recovery and wellness that responds to the distinct needs of each individual. Programs include residential and outpatient addiction treatment, recovery services, prevention education, and community programming. Reporting to the Residential Manager and delivering milieu services in the trauma-informed modified therapeutic community, the Motivational Enhancement Counselors will monitor the residential systems and deliver behavioral interventions to the residents for the 100 bed, OASAS licensed residential treatment facility. They will work in an integrated fashion with other clinical program staff to provide effective individualized services and interventions that meet the treatment plan goals and objectives for residents. They will provide a safe haven in which our resident patients may confront their behavior, learn how to utilize their strengths to deal with the many problems related to chemical dependency, and develop the skills necessary to allow them to function as valuable members of the community without the use of drugs or alcohol.
Responsibilities
Direct Services with Credential
Individual and group behavioral interventions in line with the modified trauma-informed modified therapeutic community.
Monitor and coordinate residents' attendance at medical, dental, and psychiatric appointments.
Monitors resident's participation in all residential services with appropriate communication and interventions applied for noncompliance with the program schedule.
Participate in and lead crisis intervention for behavioral episodes or relapse episodes on-site, following facility procedures and documenting accordingly.
Conduct regular and scheduled safety runs, safety searches, and reporting back observations, intervening with residents appropriately, and making recommendations for a follow-up to the team.
Conducts department meetings and committee meetings with residents in line with the modified Therapeutic Community model.
Follows procedures for investigating safety issues, and managing onsite incidents with appropriate written incident reporting and verbal communication.
Counseling
Conduct group counseling sessions with residents.
Acts as a liaison to a clinical counselor and conducts caseload check-in rounds on shift with assigned caseload
Utilize strengths-based counseling and MI spirit as well as employ strengths-based behavioral modification strategies.
Treatment
Act as the SUD “behavioral expert” for participation in treatment planning led by the clinical counselor with the support multidisciplinary team
Document behavioral interventions in the clinical record as per 820 and CARF standards
Communicate any outcomes of individual or group interventions to the clinical team members involved in the resident's treatment plan.
Administrative
Supervise and assist residents with in-house job functions, cooking, clean-up chores, and other daily living activities.
Regular review of resident signs out book and cross-referencing with resident's headcount
Provide recreational activities, including trips.
Maintain patient records.
Dispense metro cards and lunch money to residents as needed.
Collect HRA finger images and other required reporting elements.
Participate in house meetings.
Communicate pertinent information in Staff on duty log, Shift Exchange Meetings and Shift plans
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or equivalent is required with valid CASAC. 2 years of experience in SUD treatment setting and a Master's degree in behavioral science; social work, psychology, sociology may be substituted for CASAC if the applicant applies for CASAC-T within 90 days of hire.
One (1) year of related work experience in a Residential Therapeutic Community setting is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of strengths-based counseling, cognitive-behavioral treatment, and behavior modification in practice
A degree in a related field (social work/psychology) is a definite plus.
Current adult CPR and First Aid certifications a plus
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a broad variety of people, including other team members and management.
Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Competency with computer-based programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook email, Relias, and Electronic Health records

We are seeking a qualified healthcare professional to be our Clinical Counselor Outpatient Services who will counsel and aid individuals who have substance use disorders and/or their families/loved ones in a New York State OASAS-certified outpatient treatment program. Utilizing a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, individualized assessment and counseling (telehealth or virtual) services are delivered both in-person and virtually at Project Contact Outpatient at the Center for Recovery and Wellness.
Schedule: (3) Weekdays - 10am to 6pm, (2) Weekdays - 12pm to 8pm, and a rotating weekend once a month.
Responsibilities
Provide caseloads with weekly individual case management and counseling sessions consistent with the individualized treatment plan for individuals in the Substance Use Treatment and/or Significant Other Services treatment tracks.
Continuously assess the appropriateness of the current level of treatment, corresponding with LOCADTR and utilization review instruments (Substance Use treatment track).
Coordinate integrated services with medical, mental health, vocational, recovery services, and other social service providers.
Complete detailed progress notes, comprehensive treatment plans, intake/admission assessments, psychosocial assessments, discharge plans, and other required documentation in accordance with OASAS and CARF standards.
Maintain accurate and organized clinical charts, engaging in pre-audits of charts to ensure compliance with OASAS, managed care, and CARF standards.
Send weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to HRA through the Substance Abuse Tracking and Reporting System.
Specimen collection for clients and monitors for treatment-related issues in order to update the treatment plan (Substance Use treatment track)
Check the toxicology reporting portal daily to ensure any positive toxicology reports are communicated to supervisory staff, documented, and addressed with the client (Substance Use treatment track)
Coordinate integrated services with medical, mental health, housing, vocational, recovery services, and other social service providers.
Facilitation of individual and group-level interventions during other clinician vacations or leave
Ensure that clients' annual medical examinations are completed, with associated referrals as needed.
Contact referent and/or family contacts upon admission of new clients in a timely manner, and provide written or oral clinical updates as needed.
Effective advocacy and collateral contacts to empower clients
Outreach to referral sources to expand the network of clients.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required, as well as individual and group supervision.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in a mental health discipline (MSW, MHC, MFT, etc), and either licensed in the state of New York, or working under a limited permit and eligible for licensure. OR CASAC credentialing (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) OR CASAC-T with a bachelor's degree in a human services-related field and a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a substance use program.
Possess a demonstrated ability to deliver patient treatment, including communication skills, successful engagement in specialized human services training, understanding of human interaction and personality development, and the ability to write and record case documentation.
Familiar with Regulatory Agency/OASAS Regulations regarding the operation and practices of patient care.

POSITION OVERVIEW Performs all activities in the implementation of ERSEA (Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility, and Attendance) requirements ensuring responsiveness to the results of the Community Assessment and all applicable Head Start Performance Standards. Collects, inputs, and analyses data into the child enrollment, health, and attendance systems. Assists in the development of policies and procedures for ERSEA and for prohibition suspension and expulsion. This position will also assist parents through a referral system to community agencies in cooperation with all other disciplines (Child Development/Disabilities, Health, Mental Health, Nutrition, and Administration). Assumes a key role in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Engage in comprehensive, integrated planning with the management team: o to create ERSEA goals/outcomes and a system of services that support the eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of infants, toddlers and that is responsive to the results of the community assessment. o to create a family and community engagement goals/outcomes and a system of services that aligns with the Head Start Parent Family Community Engagement Framework. o to create a system of services that limits child suspension from the program and prohibits child expulsions from the program. o to ensure the implementation of ERSEA and Family/Community Engagement throughout the program. o to support ERSEA/Family Engagement Manager develop policies and procedures for the ERSEA and Family/Community Engagement system of services. · Assist in the assessment of community, program, child and family needs, strengths, and resources in quality-of-life issues; compile and analyze data; produce reports; assure the integration of dual language learners, homeless children, children in foster care, and children with disabilities. · Under the direction of the ERSEA/Family Engagement Manager, assist in tracking, reporting, each child's attendance and follows through with individual intervention in situations of chronic absenteeism. Assist with the development of the Community Assessment. Assist with the annual program self-assessment and federal onsite review process, focused on compliance with ERSEA and progress on family/community engagement; report on strengths, recommendations, required improvements; implement improvements and recommendations; incorporate into the program planning process. POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ERSEA • Implement the system to track the eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance of children to comply with federal and state program regulations. • Assist in creating the criteria for the selection and enrollment of children assuring responsiveness to community assessment and reflecting data on dual language learners, homeless children, children in foster care, and children with disabilities. • Perform intake/registration procedures for all families and ensures income verification and eligibility qualifications of children and families are met, and ensure applications are complete and data is accurately entered in the Child Plus database. • Assure and maintain record keeping and reporting policies for waitlists, enrollment, attendance, timelines, schedules, and procedures in accordance with following designated state and federal program requirements. • Conduct ongoing monitoring, tracking, follow-up, and analysis of enrollment and attendance data, and produce regular reports for management meetings. • Assist in addressing any possible child suspensions and in the prohibition of expulsion and collaboration with Mental Health Services. • Maintain enrollment forms, ensuring information is current, correct, and disseminated to all necessary staff to meet program requirements. • Perform recruitment activities in response to enrollment data and waitlist data. • Ensure full program enrollment and maintenance of a sufficient waitlist. • Compile and submit Program Information Report (PIR) data periodically. Family Service/Community Partnerships • Implement the system for Family and Community Engagement Services. • Implement a system of services, record keeping, and reporting of the Family Partnership Agreement and assure its alignment to the Parent Family Community Engagement Framework. • Assist in being the program resource for consultation, information, and referral regarding community resources to staff and client families • Completes family service home visits and Needs Assessments • Completes other related activities and duties as assigned. Health and Disabilities • Support families obtain their infant/toddler's health requirements, such as vaccines, annual health checkups, dental/oral health exams, etc. • Follow up with parents and doctors on infants' and toddlers' health requirements, and ongoing health care, including access to a medical and dental home. • Responsible for tracking and documenting health events in the program's data management system. • Conducts Health home visits, screenings, and assessments with families. • Utilize the Arizona State Immunization System (ASIIS) database to capture children's immunization data. • Monitor children's health reports and works collaboratively with the Health Services Team. • Support the referral process for children with possible special needs and works collaboratively with the Education/Disabilities Team, teachers, and parents. PHYSICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The ability to see at a normal distance, hear normal conversations and sounds, and use hands and fingers to fill out the required forms. Occasional lifting of fifty (50) pounds is required and must be able to push/pull up to fifty pounds horizontally. Ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist, kneel and/or stoop 75% of the time.
