What you do as an Education Specialist:
Build a roster of students for the iJAG program
+ Market the program throughout the school
+ Work with school administration to create a list of students that meet the program criteria
+ Ensure students in feeder programs within the district are continuing in the program
Facilitate material through project-based learning (PBL) in a high school classroom
+ Utilize our 7 essential constructs to facilitate projects throughout the year
+ Manage the classroom while actively advocating for student voice and choice throughout lessons
+ Plan upcoming lessons and projects utilizing PBL methodology to engage students
+ Liaise with parents as a stakeholder in student success through means such as parent-teacher conferences
+ Create an inclusive classroom culture and instills a sense of community among students
Enter, track, and report on specific data measures
+ Maintain accurate student information
+ Input data into systems of record daily, e.g. model services/lesson plans, attendance, grades, etc.
+ Maintain and update any IDP/IEPs for their students, attends meetings for those as necessary
+ Assess the impact of iJAG on attendance, credits towards graduation, college prep course selection, and enrollment in AP or dual credit courses
+ Analyze data to identify any students in need of tutoring, mentoring, or other support
Work to actively engage students and employers in a future career-readiness capacity
+ Reach out to employers weekly to incorporate different career paths into projects
+ Create support within the community for iJAG students
+ Work with students on job skills and needs
Utilize additional JAG frameworks in student interactions, such as Trauma Informed Care
Work with students and external parties to create fundraising opportunities for the class
Collaborate closely with Program Manager and school administration to ensure program success
Prep students to participate in statewide or national events
Attend professional development events and training through the school district
Participate in continuing education as applicable, maintaining either a teacher certification or iJAG authorization
What you need to do the job:

What you do as an Education Specialist:
Build a roster of students for the iJAG program
* Market the program throughout the school
* Work with school administration to create a list of students that meet the program criteria
* Ensure students in feeder programs within the district are continuing in the program
Facilitate material through project-based learning (PBL) in a high school classroom
* Utilize our 7 essential constructs to facilitate projects throughout the year
* Manage the classroom while actively advocating for student voice and choice throughout lessons
* Plan upcoming lessons and projects utilizing PBL methodology to engage students
* Liaise with parents as a stakeholder in student success through means such as parent-teacher conferences
* Create an inclusive classroom culture and instills a sense of community among students
Enter, track, and report on specific data measures
* Maintain accurate student information
* Input data into systems of record daily, e.g. model services/lesson plans, attendance, grades, etc.
* Maintain and update any IDP/IEPs for their students, attends meetings for those as necessary
* Assess the impact of iJAG on attendance, credits towards graduation, college prep course selection, and enrollment in AP or dual credit courses
* Analyze data to identify any students in need of tutoring, mentoring, or other support
Work to actively engage students and employers in a future career-readiness capacity
* Reach out to employers weekly to incorporate different career paths into projects
* Create support within the community for iJAG students
* Work with students on job skills and needs
Utilize additional JAG frameworks in student interactions, such as Trauma Informed Care
Work with students and external parties to create fundraising opportunities for the class
Collaborate closely with Program Manager and school administration to ensure program success
Prep students to participate in statewide or national events
Attend professional development events and training through the school district
Participate in continuing education as applicable, maintaining either a teacher certification or iJAG authorization
What you need to do the job:
* Bachelor's degree in social sciences, counseling, education, or a related field is required
* Experience facilitating content to diverse groups
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to understand and use data to inform instructional decisions for student success
* Ability to establish appropriate boundaries while developing and nurturing supportive relationships
* Ability to develop curriculum, projects, and other educational opportunities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google applications
* Ability to learn new software systems
