Our DC HIT programs last year produced excellent results at our partner schools, with an average of over 5 months of grade level progress per student. We need passionate teachers who are available during the school day for 2-3 hours per day to work with students in 2nd-8th grade. This program is funded by a grant to provide HIT (High-Impact Tutoring) to students in an effort to recover from learning loss during the pandemic. Teachers will use proven, individualized academic programs working with students in up to a 4:1 ratio. You will work with the same small group of students who are assigned to you from beginning to end of the program. The goal of the program is to help students bring their foundational academic skills in reading and math up to grade level. We work closely with the reading specialists at our partner schools to identify the correct starting levels and areas of opportunity in reading comprehension for each student. Then, we adjust it regularly, based on their scores and your feedback, to make sure we get the most we can out of each session.
