Job Description
The CCE Justice Education internship program provides a unique opportunity for exceptional undergraduate students to contribute directly and tangibly to District-wide justice reform. General Responsibilities
Justice Education Interns at the Council for Court Excellence will participate in hands-on public outreach efforts that directly impact the D.C. community. CCE's justice education work includes both developing guides, resources, and practical tools for D.C. residents to help them understand the complex nature of the legal system and disseminating those resources as widely as possible. Specifically, interns can expect to:
Research and draft educational guides to increase community understanding of the civil, criminal, and juvenile justice systems and to improve outcomes;
Support planning and implementation of educational programs, including logistics support, drafting scripts, and creating trainings;
Track and lead outreach work to various community partners including small businesses, nonprofit advocacy organizations, workforce development organizations, job readiness programs, etc.;
Draft website and social media content, and develop outreach materials like one-pagers, flyers, etc.;
Provide substantive and logistical assistance to certain CCE committees through attending meetings, researching project leads, and reviewing literature; and
Assist with project committees' report release events and other special events as needed.
Qualifications
Undergraduate students are eligible for CCE internships, though we also welcome graduate students. Applicants should have a background in public education and/or communications work and an interest in one or more of the following areas: civic engagement, government, journalism, public relations, or resource development. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
For students who are not receiving course credit or other funding for their internship, CCE will provide a stipend commensurate with hours worked (for example, $2,000 per semester for 20 hours per week). CCE also covers public transportation costs to and from required meetings or events.
Availability
CCE offers hybrid work opportunities (at our office located in downtown Washington, DC, in a location of your choice, or some combination); we often host events in the office or in D.C., so we prefer locally based interns. We offer three internship sessions that align with the academic calendar: Spring (from January to May), Summer (from June to August), and Fall (from September to December). Positions can be full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week), based on the needs of the organization and student availability. Mi Espacio is an afterschool program that promotes successful high school graduation, leadership development, post-secondary enrollment and career readiness for first and second generation immigrant youth. The program meets twice a week at International High School @ Langley Park and High Pointe High School and includes the following components: workshops pertaining to college and career readiness, financial literacy and health; enrichment activities such as sports, art, field trips and community service opportunities; leadership development and opportunities for civic engagement.
The Education Department's Life Skills ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Program uses the teaching methodology of Popular Education to address the educational needs of its adult learners. Compensation: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts with extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, polling, and analytics. Position Summary
The Hub is accepting applications for an Economy Campaigns Intern to support the Campaigns department in the execution of advocacy campaigns focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and urging elected officials to support policies that benefit working people and families. Our campaigns leverage a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its allies. This is a paid position.
Job Duties
As an Economy Campaigns Intern, you'll:
Support the Economic Education Project's campaign planning process, including drafting and editing program memos.
Draft press and policy materials and/or digital content.
Provide logistical support for earned media events such as town halls, press conferences, roundtables, lobby days, etc.
Help communicate our work to key partners.
Assist with media monitoring and basic research on the media landscape.
Attend partner meetings and share followup information.
Other projects as assigned.
