REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services, Coordinator of Alternative Education EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: At the time of application, the candidate must hold or be eligible for: A professional teaching certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education; or A conditional degree certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education as outlined in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR). At least three years of successful teaching experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Ability to understand and communicate with both verbal and written skills. Understanding of and ability to maintain rapport with persons from diverse, cultural, ethnic, and racial groups. Satisfactory evaluations and demonstrated mastery of the essential skills of teaching. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provides social skills and behavior modification activities for students.
