Establishes annual education goals with the Nurse Manager that support those set for the Department and Organization.

Facilitates the orientation of new staff to assigned units through collaboration and consultation with Nurse Managers and Preceptors to develop individual orientation plans based on assessed needs and maintains accurate orientation records.
Provides consultation and direction to preceptors, nurses or nurse managers as needed and serves as a mentor for new and current nursing staff.
Assesses the educational needs of staff in assigned areas in collaboration with nursing management.
Uses a variety of methods including data collected from performance improvement activities, direct observation, patient satisfaction surveys, and hospital goals. Plans and implements formal and informal education activities to meet the needs of nursing staff in assigned areas.
Provides clinical expertise at point of care including implementing care for complex patients or carrying out complex/high risk procedures.
Maintains an accurate system of documentation related to the educational experiences of staff, including orientation and ongoing staff development.
Reviews or develops unit policies and procedures in collaboration with staff; assuring that evidence based practice and research are integrated as appropriate.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, evidence based practice and nursing research projects and initiates or participates in unit Performance Improvement activities.
Facilitates, supports and encourages programs and initiatives that promote specialty certification and advanced education initiatives.
Leads programs that support the Nursing Magnet Model and Peer Review structure in order to drive nursing performance improvement.
Promotes and supports the Professional Excellence Program in collaboration with departmental leaders in research and performance improvement.

As a Museum Educator, you may work in one or more of the below programs or capacities.
Bilingual Early Childhood Enrollment (classes for children ages 2-5): Facilitate age-appropriate, dynamic semester-long curricula in Spanish; promote students' social-emotional and academic development; integrate arts, movement, and storytelling activities; and establish trusting relationships with parents and caregivers.
Bilingual Community-Based Programs & Family Engagement: Support and/or facilitate arts-integrated workshops for students between ages 2-12, as well as parents/teachers/caregivers through library programming, school outreach, family shelter programs, etc. Model best teaching practices; co-plan and liaise with partner site contact as needed.
Guided Field Trips: Facilitate school and summer camp guided group programs in CMOM exhibits.
Collaborate and co-teach with fellow educators and departmental leadership.
Maintain program spaces, manage supply orders and organization, and prepare materials for program implementation.
Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual in English and Spanish required (Spanish fluency required)
1-2 years experience, including:
Program facilitation for children ages birth-12, teachers, and families in diverse settings
Lesson planning experience
Understanding of inquiry and art-integrated teaching and learning
Undergraduate degree in Arts Education, Early Childhood Education, Museum Learning, Special Education, Child Development, OR equivalent relevant experience
Experience integrating age-appropriate visual art, STEAM, music, dance, theater, and/or social studies into teaching practice
Proficiency with inquiry, object observation, and dynamic storytelling
Ability to engage children, families, and caregivers in a welcoming, energetic, friendly, and professional manner

Scope
The Paley Center for Media is seeking a Museum Educator to design and lead intergenerational workshops in YouTube content creation, social media literacy and safety, and practical AI tools for parents, adults, and tweens. You'll build inclusive, hands-on learning that demystifies platforms and AI while promoting creativity and safe digital habits
Lead hands-on workshops for parents, adults, and tweens (8+) on YouTube production, social media literacy and safety, and practical AI tools-all within an engaging, museum-based learning environment.
The standard work week for this position is On-site in NYC Wednesday to Sunday.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver interactive, intergenerational workshops that build confidence and critical thinking around content creation, online safety, and responsible AI use.
Lead YouTube workshops covering storytelling and community guidelines.
Build media literacy. Teach platform safety, privacy settings, screen-time boundaries, digital etiquette, and reputation management.
Demystify AI. Facilitate accessible sessions on AI concepts, ethics, and hands-on tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL·E, Teachable Machine).
Design curricula. Create scaffolded, age-appropriate lesson plans and kits for parents and tweens; iterate from feedback and evaluation data.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a faculty member of the Catholic school community serving in one of our PreK for All classrooms, the lead teacher candidate will be expected to successfully execute a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Provide students with an age-appropriate nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment to support their social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development.
Provide classroom instruction and facilitate engaging learning experiences based on Creative Curriculum Units of Study.
Regularly assess the progress of each child and differentiate instruction to build upon individual strengths and interests.
Work closely with your school administration, Archdiocesan/NYC DOE coaches, and your program team to implement positive behavior management support and provide high quality early childhood instruction.
Interact with everyone with respect, compassion and confidentiality while exhibiting knowledge of and sensitivity to the educational, cultural, and socio-economic needs of the children and families served in the program.
Guide and collaborate with the teacher assistants and aides.
Participate in professional development sessions as provided by the NYC DOE and the Archdiocesan Office of Early Childhood.
Communicate regularly with families to support the extension of learning at home as per the program protocols.
Respond to parent concerns and requests with professionalism and as a partner in the education of each child.
Actively support the goals of the school and program through collaborative teamwork with colleagues.
Continually seek and participate in opportunities to develop as an early childhood professional.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
OTHER INFORMATION:
School Year program is based on a 180 day schedule, September through June.
