Duties
Develop, plan, and deliver an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Florida Standards.

Supervise and mentor assistant teachers / aides in the classroom. Provide guidance, support, and direction.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom environment. Ensure the classroom is set up with developmentally appropriate learning centers.
Observe, assess, and document each child's growth and development. Identify milestones, learning needs, and provide interventions as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, participate in parent-teacher conferences, respond to parent questions or concerns.
Ensure compliance with all state licensing, program requirements, health safety regulations (including CPR/First Aid, background checks, etc.).
Maintain accurate records: attendance, incident/accident reports, developmental assessments, lesson plans, etc.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, workshops, and training to stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
Collaborate with center leadership and other teachers to support overall program quality, including contributions to enrollment, retention, and center goals.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Florida's teacher credential requirements (certified to teach VPK, DCF 45-Hour training, or equivalent; CDA preferred).
Previous experience teaching preschool or VPK, with demonstrated experience leading a classroom.
Strong knowledge of child development principles and Florida standards.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a nurturing disposition.
Physical Qualifications:
Ability to move around the classroom frequently, assist with children, sit/kneel/squat.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. • Develops training programs to ensure staff maintain and enhance professional competence, including State certification and Continuing Education requirements.
• Designs and delivers specialized preparatory classes for IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers) certification courses, emphasizing test preparation and applied learning.
• In coordination with the leadership team, create, develop, and teach internal training programs designed for classroom and online needs.
• Coordinate IAAO courses during the budget year.
• Prepare department budget and other required reports.
• Prepare and post an annual training calendar.
• Prepares and maintains training records and reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the ongoing training efforts.
• Maintains a database tracking all coursework for the staff.
• Communicates scheduled training opportunities to all staff regularly.
• Coordinates and tracks the educational requirements for the CEAA (Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration) office certification.
• Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and other functions as required.

The Certified Teacher is responsible for providing academic instruction to actively participating 21st Century club members during 21st Century program hours.
2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Vice President of Specialized Programs are, but not limited to:
Responsible for providing instructions in the main core subjects including reading, English language arts, science, and mathematics.
• Responsible for providing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics “STEM” curricula.
• Ensuring all lessons and activities will be delivered and facilitated using engaging, creative, innovative, and “hands on” techniques. The Certified Teacher will select and modify instructional materials and plans to enhance learning and motivates students to actively engage in the meaningful learning experience.
• Manage materials, equipment, and time effectively; interpret data for diagnosis and instructional planning; maintains accurate and appropriate records and files.
• Provides 21st Century club members opportunities to use technology; and ensures that club member growth and achievements are continuous and appropriate for the age groups.
• Works closely with School-Based Club Director to communicate effectively with parents.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Actively participate in BGCA training, internal training, and All Staff meetings
• Report suspicions of abuse or neglect to the State Abuse Hotline
• The Certified Teacher will be on-site during all hours of a program operation to ensure that all activities support student instructions.
• The Certified Teacher is provided with 30 minutes per day for set-up and planning.
• Support other projects as needed.
