JOB OVERVIEW:
The Agency Education Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the professional development of independent insurance agents through effective training programs. RESPONSIBILITIES:
This individual will work with other leaders from CIG departments to develop curriculum and specific modules to advance CIG products and services and will deploy these trainings with agencies. The training program will consist of three different areas outlined below. The Specialist will build, manage and create the following content.
Producer Development
* Responsible for building an education program designed to bring seasoned agency producers to the next level
* Indoctrinate them to our product offerings from all 3 lines of business
* Create relationships dedicated to the services of one another to help achieve goals
Agency Training:
* Responsible for building a training program of new processes within CIG. Will travel to teach our agencies of these new programs
* This position will strive to offer courses that meet accreditation standards and align with state licensing requirements. However, the need may arise to develop non-accredited courses to present a CIG training topic.
* Build and plan to insert CIG specific key learnings into all training topics and materials.

The Coordinator of Interprofessional Education (IPE) is responsible for the M.D. Program Interprofessional Education Program, including the IPE scholarly concentration, and IPE service learning. The Coordinator is also responsible for direction and coordination of the AHEC IPE Scholar Program. This position develops, integrates, monitors and evaluates the activities of the Interprofessional Education program for the AHEC Scholars Program with the School of Medicine and serves as the primary contact for coordination with additional UNR and NSHE health profession training programs. This position works with outside education Institutions in the development of IPE Scholars. In addition, this position directs the IPE activities of the three AHEC centers to support personnel, online learning portal and in-person training for Centers and AHEC Scholars.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience in teaching would provide the required knowledge and skills are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with student teaching experience
and/or
Experience: Three (3) years of verified contracted teaching experience with a Bachelor's Degree and the ability to obtain a valid teaching license in Nevada
Knowledge of: Child development; behavior and characteristics of students; subject area and/or credential area of teaching. (e.g. special education, math, science, etc.); effective teaching skills; planning and organizing; supervision and control; assessment and diagnosis; interpersonal relations.
Skill at: Creating an effective environment for learning, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other staff members. The ability to establish and maintain standard of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Effective utilization of technology in instruction, planning, data-based decision making and monitoring of student achievement.
License/Certificates: Possession of, or the ability to obtain a valid Nevada teaching license in the relevant subject area/and or grade level.
Special Considerations: When selected for Department chair of a high school, additional pay will be provided based on number of teachers supervised.

The incumbent performs an outcome evaluation relative to clinical practice, provides consultation to other health care providers and is an excellent clinician.
Nature and Scope:
The position is accountable for advanced knowledge in the specialty area and applies theories and concepts derived from the biological and behavioral sciences. The incumbent is also accountable for integrating adult learning theory into the nursing specialty.
The position requires advanced leadership skills. These leadership skills include role modeling, coaching and monitoring to develop the nursing staff. The incumbent also has consultation skills to collaborate with nursing management, other departments and professionals within the hospital as well as in the community.
The position requires advanced clinical practice skills. These include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a patient population whose age is determined by the particular educator's specialty. The incumbent also assists with legal and regulatory standards to maintain quality care.
The incumbent also has advanced adult education skills. The major challenge is to develop the staff using a variety of adult learning principles including didactic, self-directed and clinical modalities. The position requires outcome evaluation of these teaching and learning strategies.
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the department Competence with Special Populations competency standards.

Professional nursing practice is congruent with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
