REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Two or more years post high school education, with preference given to early child-centered studies and/or early childhood development expertise. Child Development Associates (CDA) preferred credentials.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Previous work in an educational setting, childcare, daycare, CPR certification, First Aid training, familiarity with various child development techniques
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to actively engage with children on their level, including bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform duties both indoors and outdoors and participate in all classroom and playground activities.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Patience, flexibility, caring personality, punctuality, and dependability. Experience with monitoring social and emotional development and behavior management. Ability to follow classroom routines and respond calmly to challenging behaviors or situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Classroom Support:
Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom routines designed to meet the developmental needs of children ages 3 to 5, including those with diverse abilities and learning styles.
Support small group and individualized instruction across developmental domains, including early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social-emotional growth.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
Incorporate play-based, sensory-rich, and hands-on learning experiences aligned with early childhood best practices.
Use positive behavior support strategies to foster social-emotional development and address behavioral challenges.
Child Supervision & Guidance:
Provide active supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children throughout the day, including during indoor and outdoor play, classroom transitions, meals, and rest times.
Model and support positive behavior and social interactions using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques.
Provide physical assistance to children as needed (e.g., toileting, dressing, feeding support).
Health, Nutrition, and Safety:
Assist with preparation, serving, and cleanup of snacks and meals in accordance guidelines.
Promote hygiene routines such as handwashing, toileting, and clean-up.
Follow health and safety procedures, including emergency drills and incident reporting.
Family & Team Collaboration:
Communicate professionally and respectfully with families and caregivers.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, specialists, and program coordinators to meet individual child goals, including IEP or intervention plans.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development opportunities as required.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at South Dakota State University seeks a distinguished professional to join us as the Metzger Endowed Educator in Power Systems Engineering. This faculty position is ideal for a candidate with strong industry experience who is passionate about sharing expertise with the next generation of engineers. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the department's Power and Energy Program, which has supported local industries through $5 million in research funding, 15 undergraduate researchers, and 9 PhD students. The successful candidate will lead the Center for Power Systems Studies (CPSS), expand industry collaborations, teach power-focused electrical engineering courses, supervise senior design projects, recruit students to strengthen program enrollment, and mentor students to successful careers in the electrical power industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend industry knowledge with academic leadership and mentoring in a growing, high-impact program. Located in Brookings, South Dakota, this position is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position, at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Practice.
The McComish Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science provides a hands-on, practical education that prepares students for careers in engineering, science, and technology. Our programs emphasize problem-solving, research, and collaboration with industry and government partners. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach undergraduate electrical engineering courses emphasizing power areas.
* Supervise senior/capstone design projects in electrical engineering

The CPSS, founded in 1968, has partnered with the regional power industry to promote student education through direct engagement with professionals. * Participate in student recruitment in electrical engineering with an emphasis on the power areas.
* Provide service to the department, college, and University, as needed.
* Enhance partnerships with stakeholders in the power industry to strengthen the curriculum and provide hands-on experiences for students.
* Develop strong relationships with the power industry to connect students with impactful employment opportunities (i.e. Internships and/or Full-Time).

May oversee all/specific academic programs (i.e., special education, STEM, gifted & talented, etc.) or student-supporting functions (i.e., dean of students, attendance, student discipline, etc.). Education Specialist is responsible for enhancing educational programs, developing curricula, and supporting teachers and students to improve learning outcomes. Typical work assignments may include the following:
* Design and implement instructional programs and curricula that meet educational standards and improve student learning experiences.
* Plans, organizes and conducts in-service training on an Agency-wide basis for academic personnel to provide them with a basic and extended understanding of current research, studies, trends in education, Regional directives and Agency policy in conducting the programs. Assists other specialists in conducting training in the fields of elementary and secondary curriculum and instruction including Supplemental projects. Cooperates with colleges, universities and other agencies in planning and conducting such training programs and, on a request basis, acts as a participant, leader or instructor in such programs.

Be present in each class and children's church at least once a month or as requested by volunteer teachers. Verify, document, and enforce use of background check badges for all volunteers working with minors.

Must ensure teacher(s) is/are prepared and ready to teach all RE classes coordinated with Catholic Chaplain. Ensure background check badges are signed out and maintained by Catholic RE volunteers.

Upon start of the contract term, meet with NCOIC, Chapel Operations to receive facility orientation and issuance of facility keys. Upon end of contract term, return all issued keys and equipment.

Do not remove any equipment or chapel furnishings from chapel facilities without consent from the Wing Chaplain.

Serve as the advisor to the Wing Chaplain and NCOIC, Chapel Operations as the subject matter expert on Catholic Religious Education requirements and curriculum.

Coordinate and execute volunteer appreciation function for Catholic RE volunteers annually or as required by the Wing Chaplain.

Ensure classes and events are set up properly before close of business on the last duty day before the event/program. Report any requirements or requests to successfully launch the event/program before COB on the last duty day before the scheduled activity. Upon event completion, ensure the facility is cleaned up, trash has been taken out, all lights and equipment has been turned off and facilities are locked and secure.

Ensure set-up and tear down of facility is thoroughly completed (i.e., returning tables and chairs to original location, storing TV's in their secure locations). Ensure books and materials are properly stored and classrooms are free of loose materials and debris after use. Coordinator may recruit volunteers from congregation to perform set-up and tear down tasks.

Coordinate with the Protestant RE Coordinator on any ecumenical Chapel program outreach events as required by the Wing Chaplain

Plan and coordinate a summer curriculum for Catholic Youth Religious Education (i.e. a type of Vacation Bible School or coordination with Rapid City Parish hosted summer event).

Schedule and organize Vacation Bible School in consultation with the Catholic Chaplain, or designee. Recruit volunteer teachers and staff, and create funds requests in order to obtain the appropriate materials when such a program is deemed necessary by the Catholic Advisory Council.

Project the required amount of RE and Vacation Bible School curriculum material and submit a timely funds request to the Catholic Chaplain.

Comply with all laws and requirements at the Federal, State, and Local level, to include Air Force Instructions and policies.

Perform the services described above or coordinate performance by a substitute of equal or higher proficiency who has been approved in advance by the Wing Chaplain. Submit the names and qualifications of proposed subcontractors to the Wing Chaplain for approval at least 14 days prior to the proposed absence. Subcontractors must meet the requirements for the position as outlined in this Statement of Work (SOW). The Coordinator is responsible for payment of substitute.

Promote the mission of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
