Education / Experience / Requirements:
Preferred: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from an accredited institution.
Accepted: Associate degree in a related field with 6 credit bearing courses relevant to competencies in early childhood education AND experience working with young children.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

What will you be doing?
As a UPK Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing the New York State and individual district UPK curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten. Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 3-4 years in one assigned classroom.
• Creating developmentally appropriate curriculum according to district and state guidelines.
• Curating programs and activities based on children's interests and learning styles.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Partnering with families to create plans to provide the best care and education for their children.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
