The Community Education Specialist 3 (CES 3) position will be located at the University of California (UC) Hansen Agricultural Research and Extension Center (HAREC) and will work closely with UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE), Ventura County. HAREC's mission is to support sustainable agriculture and natural resources on the Central Coast through research, education, and community outreach. The UCCE in Ventura County's mission is to support the county through applied research and education in agriculture, natural resources, and youth development. The Clinical Education Instructor and Clinical Field Liaison ( CEI / CFL ) position is a joint teaching and administrative support position. The CEI / CFL works as a member of the Clinical Academic Affairs team to ensure quality educational opportunities for Year 3 and Year 4 veterinary students at Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine (WesternU CVM ). The CEI / CFL aids the Directors of Year 3 and Year 4 Curriculum in the delivery and assessment of student clinical training and assists the Director of Clinical Relations in oversight of external clinical sites. Instructional duties will account for approximately 60% of the position effort (0.6 FTE ) and will include, but are not limited to, oversight of Year 4 selective rotations, assistance with Year 3 clinical course scheduling and evaluation, and instruction in the Veterinary Basic and Medical Sciences for Year 1 and Year 2. The Community Education Specialist 3 (CES 3) position will be located at the University of California (UC) Hansen Agricultural Research and Extension Center (HAREC) and will work closely with UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE), Ventura County. HAREC's mission is to support sustainable agriculture and natural resources on the Central Coast through research, education, and community outreach. The UCCE in Ventura County's mission is to support the county through applied research and education in agriculture, natural resources, and youth development. The CES 3 will collaboratively develop, coordinate, and evaluate an effective outreach and education program to increase agricultural literacy among the public and other stakeholders in Ventura County. The program will be based at the Hansen Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Camarillo, CA, with countywide activities as appropriate. The CES 3 will also participate in the development of a strategic plan for enhancing agricultural education pathways and public awareness and appreciation of agriculture in the County. The Skirball Cultural Center seeks skilled On Call Educators to facilitate school and public programs within various Skirball spaces and galleries, including Noah's Ark at the Skirball, the Skirball's award-winning interactive children's and family destination. On Call Educators are part of a collaborative team that facilitates participatory programs for visitors, especially those with young or school-age children.
