Job Description
During initial orientation, working 3 days per week on weekdays will be required for 6-8 weeks.
Must be able to work 16 hours per month minimum after successfully completing orientation, and have a minimum of one year of paid previous experience as a MA to receive an interview.
This position does not offer medical benefits.
General Summary:
The MedicalAssistant is responsible for daily clinical work in the outpatient/primary care setting in accordance with the Ambulatory MedicalAssistant Scope of Practice. Assists Physicians and other staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician.
Essential Job Functions:
Depending on location, performs phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed by delegating provider.
Administers, including but not limited to, intramuscular injections, subcutaneous injections, intradermal skin testing, topical medications, ophthalmic drops and nasal spray.
Depending on location, performs ECGs, places Holter monitors and downloads telemetry data.
Works in conjunction with other staff to maximize clinic flow.
Intervenes appropriately in emergency situations.
Documents data and changes in the Electronic Medical Record.
Provides assistance and or back up support for administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling patient visits and performing basic "check-in, check out" activities.
Obtains measurements, patient history and other intake activities.
Stocks and maintains the clinic area including ordering of supplies as needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of pertinent aspects and competency with protocols related to the use of chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization if required as part of the responsibilities of the role.
Depending on location, directs High Level Disinfection scope cleaning in accordance with defined HLD processes.
Completes trainings and education including but not limited to Healthcare Provider CPR.
Other job functions as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma required.
Successful completion of a formal MedicalAssistant program.
Possesses 0 - 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
Certified MedicalAssistant (CMA) (AAMA) or Registered MedicalAssistant (RMA) preferred but not required.
Some college, preferred.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Excellent communication/listening skills. Substantial interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with pediatric patients, families, physicians, nursing and other allied health and medical center personnel.

As a certified nursing assistant (CNA), you will assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents in your nursing home.
You will assist residents with grooming, quality of life and self-care.
You will perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
You will chart accurately and maintain records in a timely manner.
You will create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth in your nursing home.
Requirements:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications:
Current, valid nursing assistant certification in the State of Illinois.
No abuse records.
Ability to read, write, and spell and to understand and follow both written and oral directions.
Ability to communicate and work well with residents and staff members in your nursing home.
Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Requires valid deemed nurse aide certification in the State of Illinois.
Requires employee to have had no abuse convictions.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Requires at least 1 year of CNA work experience
