General Summary of Position Responsibility:
The Polysomnographic Tech Assistant is a support position in the Sleep Medicine Center with duties designed to be flexible in order to meet the specific needs of the department. The Polysomnographic Tech Assistant assists the Polysomnographic Technologists by facilitating the workflow of the department. Individuals in the Polysomnographic Assistant role will have demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to achieve results in a team environment. Active participation in an intensive Polysomnography training program will be required including the completion of AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) online learning modules. Completion of internal competencies as well as hands on coaching required in order to successful transition into the Polysomnographic Technologist role.
Essential Job Functions:
Area Specific Job Accountabilities:
* Assists Polysomnographic Technologists with tasks for the successful acquisition of Polysomnography studies.
* Assure that all signals are clear from artifact at all times.
* Report all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to the Polysomnographic Technologists.
* Disconnects patient from the electrodes, cleans and removes equipment from the patient room at the conclusion of the study.
* Performs cleaning of equipment, and restocks supplies as needed. All equipment and supplies will be cleaned according to area policy and maintained in the appropriate dirty/clean holding areas.
* Facilitates patient flow to and from the sleep areas.
* Works cooperatively as a team member to foster achievement of unit/hospital goals.
* Actively completes 25 Self-Study modules through the AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine).
* Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* High school diploma required.
* Minimum of one year of experience working in a healthcare role required.
* Basic Life Support Certification required.
* Ability to move machines and patients weighing in excess of 25 pounds.
* Ability to effectively communicate with hospital staff and departments.
* Entry level personal computer or Microsoft Windows knowledge.

$18.00-$27.00 Hourly

**Job Summary**
+ The Snow Truck Driver is responsible for performing all tasks related to snow removal. This on-call position requires availability for shifts ranging from 6 to 12 hours, often scheduled overnight depending on the snow event. Extended hours may be required during major storm events. The snow removal season begins with the first snowfall.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Operate a variety of snow removal equipment, including pow and box trucks, ATVs with plows, snow blowers, shovels, and e-pokes (salt spreaders), to ensure safe and efficient clearing of the designated areas.
+ Work with sidewalk crews to complete snow removal assignments safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
**Education and Experience:**
+ 3 years of commercial experience using a plow truck or salt truck.
+ 3+ years of commercial snow experience using Skid-Steer, Front End Loader, Backhoe, or equivalent vehicles with plows and snow containment boxes.
+ 18 years of age or older
+ A valid and clean driver's license with no restrictions (CDL is NOT required)
+ Work well under pressure while observing safety guidelines.
+ Have a smart phone (to download and use our attendance tracker App)
+ Dependable transportation.
+ Attendance at and successful completion of required training, as well as passing a background check are mandatory.
+ Able to lawfully work in the USA.
**Physical Demands/Requirements:**
+ Be able to lift, push, or carry 50 to 60 pounds without restriction.
+ Be able to work outdoors in freezing and wet weather conditions. Must have proper attire.
**Work Environment:**
+ Outdoor work environment during the winter snow season
+ Shifts are on-call and range from 6 to 12 hours and are often overnight depending on the storm event. May require longer hours for larger storms.
+ The season starts on the first snowfall.

Description
Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient Otolaryngology (ENT) department. The APP will be assisting the ENT surgeon with patient care and having independent clinic to support access in clinic.
Schedule: 4x10s, M-F, day off TBD; no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call
The Physician Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization?s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Physician Assistant performs procedures in accordance with clinical privileges and/or the written collaborative agreement and within the specialty of the supervising physician. This role functions autonomously and collaborates with other health professionals to provide high quality, cost effective health care to patients, manage health care systems, and influence health care decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research and theory-based practice.
Responsibilities:
Provides direct care to patients which demonstrates clinical expertise and advanced knowledge.
Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health problems within specialty area of practice.
Collaborates and consults with physicians and other health care professionals in area of clinical expertise.
Develops educational systems and strategies for teaching patients, families and staff on topics related to area of expertise.
Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice.
Actively participates in and/or conducts research pertinent to area of expertise.
Specific Performance Standards:
1. Clinical
Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients? health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in specialty area
Provides primary prevention strategies and management of stable health problems
Provides specialty care to assigned patients that may include both stable and unstable chronic health problems
Establishes diagnoses for common short-term or chronic health conditions
Prescribes medications, diet, supplies, prosthetic devices and other home health aides or medication according to clinical privileges
Orders and Interprets appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms and diagnostic procedures specified in clinical privileges
Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care
Teaches and counsels patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, plan of care, anticipated outcomes, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs
Documents in the medical record all care provided and/or procedures performed
Serves as consultant to other disciplines in areas of expertise
2. Leadership/Organization
Mentors staff to ensure quality of health care practices.
Assists with policy development and review in area of expertise
Participates in unit/departmental/divisional and/or hospital committees/task forces.
Consults with management in assessment, problem solving, decision making, and evaluating clinical/system issues.
3. Education
Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and their families.
Develops and participates in programs to meet continuing education needs of staff.
Provides formal education to both internal and external groups pertinent to area of specialty.
Willing to serve as mentor and/or preceptor to students
4. Quality and Outcomes
Identifies primary patient needs, participates as applicable in the NMG quality program with focus on measures in patient satisfaction, quality performance, and access
Perform and coordinate administrative and other clinical program duties as assigned or indicated.
Develop and monitor indicators of quality care and patient satisfaction for a specific patient population.

Qualifications
Required:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistant Programs
Physician Assistant in Medicine, Licensed (IL)
Physician Assistant certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by department
Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a PA

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient Primary Care / Family Medicine department. The APP will be providing Primary Care needs to NU Students, including but not limited to annual exams, STI Testing, PrEP, Mental Health needs (Anxiety / Depression), Gender Affirming Care, etc.
Schedule: M-F, days; no nights/weekends/holidays
On-call required: 6-7 weeks of the year, 5pm-8:30am ? overnight call only, managed by a triage nurse team
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems.
Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population.
Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise.
Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise.
Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care.
Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.

Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in clinical area.

Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities
Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities.
Documents patient history and performs physical examinations on patients presenting with routine uncomplicated and acute medical/surgical conditions to establish baseline health profile.
Performs and/or assists in the administration of routine diagnostic/laboratory studies, clinical and therapeutic procedures.
Develops presumptive nursing diagnoses and implements treatment plans based on advanced nursing assessment/problem identification consistent with established practice guidelines.
Documents assessments of the patient?s health and illness status.
Evaluates patient responses to treatment plans and redirects patient care based on findings.
Assesses patient clinical/health education needs. Provides education regarding health matters using clear and compassionate communication and ensures patient understanding. Refers patients to clinical/health education classes for further services as necessary.
Provide telecare to assigned patients, as necessary.
Regularly participate in Clinical Department, TCA Health Staff, and other meetings as assigned.
Qualifications
Active Illinois License in good standing (RN, APRN, Control Sub)
Completion of an accredited School of Nursing program
Master?s degree as a clinical nurse specialist
Active DEA Registration
Current BLS certification
Previous experience in a public health setting preferred

Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population.
Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise.

**Qualifications:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
+ Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
+ Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area, preferred.
+ Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.
