Michael A. Mussallem, age 56, has been chairman and CEO of Edwards Lifesciences, Inc. since 2000. Prior to 2000, Mussallem held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in engineering, product development and senior management at Baxter International Inc., including Group Vice President of its CardioVascular business from 1994 to 2000 and Group Vice President of the Biopharmaceutical business from 1998 to 2000. From 1996 until 1998, he was the Chairman of Baxter's Asia Board overseeing Baxter's operations throughout Asia. Mr. Mussallem is chairman of the board of directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), and serves as a member of the board for Advanced Medical Optics. He is also on the boards and executive committees of the California Healthcare Institute and OCTANe, and is a trustee of the University of California, Irvine Foundation. He received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1974 and an honorary doctorate in 1999 from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana.

Scott B. Ullem has been corporate vice president, chief financial officer since January 2014. Prior to joining Edwards, he was the chief financial officer of Bemis Company, a global supplier of packaging and pressure sensitive materials used in leading food, consumer and healthcare products. Ullem also had leadership responsibility for one of Bemis' three business segments and the company's information technology function. Before joining Bemis, Ullem spent 17 years in global investment banking, serving as managing director at Goldman Sachs and later for Bank of America. Ullem received a bachelor's degree in political science from DePauw University and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Champion of cardiovascular innovation, as well as a strong patient focus as a practicing clinician who joined Edwards as Corporate Vice President, Advanced Technology and Chief Scientific Officer. Deep ties to the medical technology community as a co-founder, board member and advisor to a number of start-up companies and began career as an engineer in the medical technology industry, ultimately becoming a Director of Clinical Research and Development. Prior to joining Edwards, he was an interventional cardiologist, Clinical Professor of Medicine (cardiology) and Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at the Stanford University School of Medicine while serving as the Fellowship Director at the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign.
