PRIMARY PURPOSE: To participate in the testing of new LMR infrastructure software products and enhancements to existing products. Test and verify product changes/enhancements with some guidance. On new projects, perform analysis and develop test plans traceable to requirements. Support the analysis and evaluation of new software/product test technologies. Support the design and development of innovative automated testing infrastructures to reduce dependency on manual testing and support the migration to those infrastructures and methodologies. Actively communicate and coordinate with other internal departments and customers providing constructive inputs and timely feedback.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Sets up and maintains software test lab including PCs, radios, service monitors, and other related equipment.
• Executes manual test plans, records and reports results.

• Document findings, record test results and create reports.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to join our customer-facing engineering team. The FAE will work closely with
sales, product management, and R&D teams to provide technical expertise, ensure successful customer evaluations, and support
deployments of our broadband access equipment. This role requires a strong technical background in access technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with customers in both pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-sales technical support to service providers, including product presentations, solution design, and technical proposals.
Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) trials, lab evaluations, and field demonstrations of broadband access equipment.
Assist customers with network design, integration, and interoperability testing with OSS/BSS, management platforms, and third-party systems.
Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams (R&D, product management, and support).
Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to customers, partners, and internal teams.
Provide post-sales support during deployment, including troubleshooting, configuration, and performance optimization.
Capture customer feedback and contribute to product roadmap discussions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience as an FAE, sales engineer, systems engineer, or network engineer in broadband access, telecom, or networking industry.
Strong understanding of PON (XGS-PON, GPON), Wi-Fi, VoIP, Ethernet switching, and IP networking.
Familiarity with OLTs, ONTs, Wi-Fi CPEs, and broadband network design.
Experience with network management protocols (SNMP, NETCONF/YANG, TR-069, TR-369) and OSS/BSS integration.
Hands-on experience with lab testing, interoperability trials, and customer demos.
Strong troubleshooting skills with packet captures, lab tools, and diagnostic platforms.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Willingness to travel (50%) to customer sites, labs, and industry events.

Job Title: Sales Engineer
Division: Trimble Field Solutions
The Trimble Construction Application Specialist is the technical expert for Trimble Construction products. Their role is to understand the workflows of our end customers and to educate and train our distribution partners how the Trimble solutions complement and optimize those workflows. They will also communicate with the end customer to understand their pain points and create a solution that may encompass varying solutions across the Trimble portfolio. Ensuring that the channel can quote, install and commission these solutions is a critical role of this position. They will work closely with the sales and technical staff of our distribution partners to improve the technical selling process and the after sales installation and commissioning phases. Will also work with the training department to determine training needs of the dealer as well as help develop the necessary content.
The Construction Application Specialist will need an intimate understanding of civil construction processes and a strong knowledge of construction principles and how Trimble solutions apply to those principles. Solution Application Specialists are the technical experts for all Trimble Construction solutions.
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated aptitude for technology; strong technical problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
Comfortable speaking to large audiences of varying backgrounds
Can articulate the value proposition of Trimble solutions to dealers and customers

Is responsible for ensuring the distributor is capable of commissioning and supporting the end customer when they deploy Trimble solutions
Can work with end customers to solve pain points using Trimble offerings and integrating varying platforms in a singular solution
Ability to build effective relationships and work across multiple functions to resolve end-user needs; represent challenges faced; provide input for training needs; etc.
Measures of Success:
See wider segmentation of product sales within a specific dealer. This demonstrates that the channel is comfortable and capable with all Trimble solutions and is delivering them into the market
Frequency of escalated support cases being submitted will reduce as dealer knowledge is increased
Beta process is shortened due to deep engagement by the Solution Application Specialist team and the dealer
The daily tasks become more proactive and less reactive. Current SAE's managers spend a lot of time post sales supporting the dealers on installation and setup and oftentimes in troubleshooting. The role should be preparing the dealers to be more self sufficient so that TFS managers can assist at the sales phase
Create a “Dealer Technical Staff Report Card” for each dealer in the Field Application Specialists territory. This scorecard will grade the dealer on their capabilities to sell and support the 4 main buckets of Trimble solutions: Earthmoving, Off Machine, Specialty Construction and Software. Update the report card on a quarterly basis to determine future quarter priorities
