General Duties:
The Infection Prevention Manager directs and coordinates the infection control program in the hospital. A postdoctoral research position in cancer and genetic epidemiology is available at the USC Center for Genetic Epidemiology within the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at USC. The applicant must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent qualification) with training in epidemiology, biostatistics and/or statistical genetics. The postdoctoral fellow will work directly with Drs. Chris Haiman and David Conti on analyzing risk factors, genetic and other omics data from diverse cohorts including the Multiethnic Cohort study, the RESPOND African American prostate cancer study and other large-scale genetics consortia (e.g. NHGRI PAGE and PRIMED. In addition to cancer, non-cancer outcomes will also be examined including anthropometric traits, diabetes and biomarkers, such as lipids, glucose, insulin or inflammatory markers. Studies focused on polygenic risk score development, rare variant analysis and health disparities research will be available. Desired is an applicant familiar with many of the most common analytic tools for genetic association studies. In addition, s/he will participate in the presentation of their research and in the writing of publications. The position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is $64,480- $72,000. The Transplant Charge Specialist (TCS) is responsible for the comprehensive review of charges under the transplant program and revenue capture surrounding transplant services and Medicare cost report (MCR) requirements. This includes but not limited to charge and case reviews for all potential encounters generated from transplant patients and time studies for both staff and physicians/surgeons. The TCS is responsible for the daily comprehensive abstraction, analysis and review of charges for solid organ transplant departments (i.e. heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, etc.) for commercial, Medicare, hospital-based, provider-based inpatient and outpatient transplant accounts to support appropriate allocation of costs to the MCR. The TCS serves as an expert resource with comprehensive knowledge of Medicare and non-Medicare insurance and various transplant cost reporting requirements and regulations. The TCS collaborates with transplant administration and leadership; working dynamically and independently with and for the different organ teams. Guided by the finance director and/or administrator
Essential Duties:
1. Responsible for the daily comprehensive abstraction and review of all charges under the transplant service and any identified transplant patient. Must be able to navigate, manage, and work well with the different infrastructure and I.T. systems in place (e.g. Cerner, OTTR, PBAR, etc.). Ensures insurances are billed timely and properly, not held up by work-queue or bill-holds, and that accounts are tracked in a separate report for monthly review. Responsible for resolving any questionable charges, activities with the clinical staff and managers.
2. Reviews and directs appropriate pre-transplant evaluation charges to the Medicare cost report client account, reviews pre-transplant charges for all other payors and ensures that they are appropriately logged/reported for purposes of Cost Report preparation. Ensures that charges are entered correctly for transplant episodes, paying particular attention to the organ acquisition charge. Reviews the Medicare cost report acquisition account monthly under the supervision of the transplant director and/or administrator.
3. Ensures accuracy of transplant patients are in the correct phases of transplant including donors; that transplant events are captured correctly and organ procurements are accounted for accurately.
4.Reviews, analyze and oversees the Medicare cost report acquisition account monthly/quarterly under the supervision of the transplant director and/or administrator. Serves as an expert resource with comprehensive knowledge of Medicare and non-Medicare insurance and various transplant cost reporting requirements and regulations.
5. Provides review and expert analysis of all revenue cycle activities, expenses and cost report related activities as it relates to department operations. Responsible for compiling reports, presentations, summaries and being able to articulate and provide expert synthesis of findings.
6. Responsible for operationalizing inter-facility billing (e.g. kidney-paired donation) and be the intermediary for Keck hospital and USC care with outside recipient and donor transplant centers (e.g. CHLA). Ensures that charges related to these activities are billed correctly as prescribed or however it is appropriate.
7. Responsible for overall management of time study collection process for staff, physicians and surgeons ensuring all applicable time studies are collected. Ensures timely feedback is given to the IT team for all errors or problems arising from the time study application and ensure completion and rectification in a timely fashion.
8. Function as a secondary liaison responsible for collaborating with medical and surgical directors, the clinical and financial staff, other internal departments, and the Medicare Cost Reporting team as it pertains to the objective of this role and the department as a whole.
9. Responsible for co-managing the data submission requirements for all organ acquisition schedules in MCR. Proactively collaborates and participate in Medicare cost report audits.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Works with Clinical Managers to identify, implement, and track progress of cost-savings opportunities. Identifies and pursues operations improvement opportunities especially the application of technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The Finance Officer will lead initiatives related to data analysis, process improvement, and strategic/operational project management, and will work closely with managers, directors, clinicians, quality leads, and other team members to develop work plans, metrics and resources to achieve the department's strategic goals and objectives. Creates and implements models for responsible forecasting of transplant volume, reimbursement, and resource consumption. This includes promoting sound, reasonable business judgment throughout the Transplant Institute. In collaboration with Managed Care Contracting team, provides contract oversight, anticipates and forecasts the financial prospects for the Transplant Institute.
The Director of Finance position will work with various fiscal and operational functions within the accounting/finance departments of Keck Medicine of USC to provide strategic and business leadership in building a shared services finance organization and process transformation. This role will create and operate a consolidated, structured, sustainable & efficient shared services model across the hospitals. Specifically, it will include standardization of accounting/fiscal functions, improving business processes and creating efficiencies through innovative solutions, with a focus on standardization, improved governance, cost containment, and revenue maximization.
Essential Duties:
Creates annual operating and capital budgets. Develops and distributes comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis. Generates department and service line dashboards and other reporting needs. Ensures all finance related accounting functions are performed in a timely manner.
Develops and implements procedures to support successful financial performance of the program. Evaluates, develops, and implements monitoring mechanisms for financial performance, within or outside of Strata. Monitors acquisition billing and ensures charges are appropriately dropped and tracked.
Works with Government Reimbursement to submit data required for the Medicare Cost Report and ensures compliance with cost report regulations, including monitoring time studies and pre-transplant charge review This will require training and continued education of transplant staff.

Completes Standard Acquisition Charge (SAC) and clinic RVU review on a regular basis and as needed.
Coordinates with the dept's office management team and Controllers Services to ensure day-to-day financial tasks are completed (i.e. processing invoices, invoicing, creating and monitoring purchase orders, etc.).
Manages transplant institute payer contracts and collaborates with appropriate parties for renewal/termination/initiation including appropriateness of rates, for existing or new agreements, as well as single case agreements.
Creates and submits capital requests. Monitors timely and accurate billing and collection of transplant accounts.
Ensures timely and coordinated responses to UNOS and payor/network RFI requests.
Optimizes and monitors the correct registration and maintenance of transplant patient accounts. Ensures compliance with all Medicare Cost Report and Insurance related regulatory requirements. Coordinates department activities with appropriate internal departments and affiliates.
Provides effective Level I management/ownership of various cost centers. Coordinates with operational leads to understand relationship between operations and financials. Develops effective relationships with finance, budget, and compensation personnel across the Enterprise
Develops dashboards to summarize and report on outcomes, volume, engagement, and other metrics. Utilizes data and benchmarks to support goals and objectives. Defines, improves, and monitors productivity standards. Provides support for analytics initiatives designed to optimize transplant outcomes and performance.
Partners with leadership to advance improvement initiatives and opportunities. Continually examines ways to improve business relationships with suppliers, community, etc. and proposes ideas for how to implement improvements.
Collaborates with Transplant Institute Medical Directors and Keck Medical Leadership in the development and implementation of the Solid Organ Transplant strategic plan.
Provides regular, effective feedback and coaching for staff. Identifies and implements development opportunities as needed to improve performance. Collaborates with IT as needed to manage transplant's needs. Supports departmental based quality committees as needed.
Ensures integration with relevant stakeholders from other service lines throughout Keck Medicines. Identifies appropriate resources to mirror trends in patient volumes, identifying and expanding referral sources, and coordinating staffing support by ancillary departments. Maintaining familiarity with hospital strategic plan and assisting in translating elements to the service line level

Required Qualifications:

JOB DESCRIPTION
USC Athletics is looking to hire an Assistant Coach, Women's Water Polo to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role is responsible for coaching and leading our women's water polo program.
This position serves a large student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for a variety of populations, and is expected to contribute to the program's demonstrated commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all. Roles and responsibilities to include:
* Coaching and teaching our women's water polo student-athletes, both individually in groups, teaching all aspects of water polo to ensure the development of the students' fullest athletic potential.
* Collaborating with each of the athletic support areas that directly impact the women's water polo program.
* Assists in the overall planning and execution of the water polo program, assisting in the recruiting process, monitoring and maintaining student athlete discipline, scouting opponents, and working with the booster program in fundraising efforts.
* Monitors the progress and needs of student-athletes, coordinates off-season conditioning programs, promotes the athletic program overall as well as the specific sport, and participates in departmental activities, as required.
* Ensures adherence to all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University rules by student-athletes and supporting staff, and complies with all rules and bylaws of the NCAA and conference.

Qualifications
* The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree and have three years of experience. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

Polysomnography Tech - Sleep Lab - Full Time 10 Hour Nights

The polysomnography technologist performs and evaluates overnight polysomnograms and other types of sleep studies. The individual will function independently to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep physiology. The technologist will understand the function of equipment used to monitor and record polysomnograms. Knowledge of normal cardiorespiratory, neurological, and sleep physiology is essential. Primary duties include the application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning\disinfection of equipment, and monitoring the polysomnogram. Polysomnographic technologists must recognize sleep pathology when it occurs and respond with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety. The polysomnography technologist administers oxygen, nasal continuous positive airway pressure, and ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established policy and procedures. This individual may also perform special procedures such as multiple sleep latency testing, capnography, ambulatory monitoring, record review\scoring, and patient education. Other responsibilities may include technologist training\orientation, in-services, and the performance of other duties as required.
Essential Duties:
Review existing information in the patient's chart and examine physician's orders. Recognize chief sleep\wake complaint and communicate effectively with ordering physician, medical director, or clinical director to clarify any unclear or inappropriate orders. Interview patients to assess current medications, caffeine or alcohol ingestion, current sleep pattern, and any intervention treatment requirements.
Proficient in setting up and calibrating equipment prior to the patient's arrival. The technologist must have the knowledge of all sleep study types and have the ability to explain the procedure to the patient.
Competent in the preparation of the patient for the appropriate procedure as prescribed by the physician. Must be knowledgeable in the indications, contraindications, and adverse effects for the use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure and Oxygen Therapy. Must be able to apply and titrate therapy based on physician's order and established protocols.
Recognize and record clinical and physiological events, note and correct equipment malfunctions, alter patient's environment, and make appropriate changes to body position as needed to obtain the required sleep\wake data.
Recognize and respond appropriately to patient's medical problems and physiological events, especially cardiac dysrhythmias, respiratory events, and seizures. Safely lift and move patient without harm to patient or self, and ensure the safety and welfare of all patients, including patients with special needs.
Checks availability and function of emergency equipments.
Remove electrodes and transducers and assist patient with hygiene as necessary. Must comply with Universal Infection Control Procedures and be able to properly disinfect and disinfect polysomnography equipment, electrodes, and transducers.
Conduct Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLTs) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWTs).
Score Polysomnograms, MSLTs, MWTs according to current guidelines.
Prepare summarization reports.
The technologist will keep appropriate records pertinent to sleep studies performed and record accurate and necessary patient information in a legible and concise format.
Appropriately maintains patient confidentiality and privacy.
Stays current on Polysomnographic techniques and updates in sleep disorders.
Attends staff meetings and case conferences as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Req High school or equivalent
Req 2 years Minimum of two years of experience performing Sleep Studies (preferably in a Hospital setting).
Req Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Req Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision to analyze complex situations and apply policy.
