28, 1861, and El Paso has become one of Colorado s first 17 counties.
1886
El Paso then grew as the Colorado Midland Railroad was established in 1886.
1887
By 1887, Glass Works was built in El Paso, and the production of bottles for the Manitou mineral water has become the livelihood of many.
1931
Ashley s Mexican Restaurant and Canning was founded in 1931 by George Ashley.
1954
In March, 1954, at the urging of Cleofas Calleros, the Women s Department of the Chamber of Commerce undertook the project of creating an El Paso Historical Society.
Created in March 1954, the Society creates directories of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and serves as the operating agency for the El Paso Museum of History.
2012
In 2012, El Paso County Celebrated 100 Years of Extension in its community.
2020
Peter E. Kern, Kern Place, and the Astrological Letter March 19, 2020 Kern Place, nestled between the Franklin Mountains and the University of Texas at El Paso, is one of El Paso s most iconic neighborhoods.
The El Paso County Historical Society is currently accepting nominations for inductees to the 2020 Hall of Honor.
