This contract engagement offers on-the-job training (approximately 3 weeks) for quickly learning critical technical skills to excel in this role and be considered for converting to permanent as determined by supervisors and business needs.
Technicians will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, with duties including:
•Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
•Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
•Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
•Support of quality systems
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES:
•Walking up to 5 or 6 miles per day
•Occasionally may need to climb a tanker truck (18-wheeler), while using fall protection, to off-load chemicals into a drum.
•In some cases, Technicians must put on a supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected to the cylinder) while working with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes)
•Basic lifting (up to 40lbs)
•Bending of the knees and overhead reaching
•PPE made available to workers include safety glasses (prescription if needed), hard hat, ear plugs, chemical apron, gloves, etc.
•The worker will be provided a voucher to purchase safety boots, which they are required to wear
•A Fit for Duty Evaluation will be required prior to reporting and annually which includes: Pulmonary Function Test for wearing a respirator, audiogram baseline for wearing hearing protection, and physical exam.
•Workers are required to complete hazardous communication training (Right to Know) before work. There are no planned activities or work in which a worker is exposed to any of the products used onsite.

A variety of shifts are available, however, for this Requisition, the available shift is noted at the top of this job description. (Day, night, 5-day, and compressed shifts (3 days on, 4 days off / 4 days on, 3 days off) based on business needs. The shift needs as determined by the business. Overtime is often available.

On Targets Janitorial Technicians work directly with their Lead Technician, and the Division Manager. The Janitorial Technician is responsible for working in a 2 or more person team to complete all assigned jobs in a timely manner and to the highest cleaning standard as described in the On Target best practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Responsibilities:
Deep Cleaning:
Execute comprehensive deep cleaning tasks, including but not limited to scrubbing baseboards, cleaning inside cabinets, and addressing overlooked areas.
Remove any leftover items and ensure that the apartment is completely cleared of personal belongings.
Fixture and Appliance Cleaning:
Clean and sanitize all fixtures, including light fixtures, ceiling fans, and appliances.
Pay special attention to kitchen appliances, ensuring they are free of any residues or stains.
Floor care:
Scrub and sanitize all types of flooring surfaces, leaving them in impeccable condition.
Window and Blind Cleaning:
Clean windows, sills, and tracks both inside and out.
Dust and clean blinds or window coverings thoroughly.
Bathroom Sanitization:
Disinfect and sanitize all bathroom surfaces, including tiles, grout, and fixtures.
Ensure that bathroom cabinets and drawers are clean and free of debris.
Trash Removal:
Dispose of any remaining trash and debris left by the previous occupants.
Arrange for the proper disposal of large items if necessary.
Reporting Damages:
Identify and report any damages or maintenance issues that require attention.
Attendance Policy:
Per the employee handbook you are late if you are not at the warehouse by the specified time of 8am Monday-Friday. The Janitorial Manager is adjusting that time frame to reflect a time period of 8:10am to accommodate for any child care arrangements and no later. If this policy is not abided by, the following disciplinary actions will take place.
-1st violation will result in a verbal warning
-2nd violation will result in a verbal warning and you will be sent home.
3rd violation will result in an official write up and you will be sent home.
Admin Responsibilities:
Update Scheduling Software/Project Software throughout the day per On Target best practices.
Communicate with staff members throughout the day using the GroupMe app.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years full time janitorial experience preferred
Strong business ethics, integrity, and ability to perform in highly autonomous environments.
Strong writing and oral communication skills.
Strong computer and technology skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with all property owners/managers.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work.
Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to meet move-out schedule.
