Maintenance Electrician Class I can perform electrical work equivalent to fourth year Electricians in certain types of work, but will require more supervision and instructions. Employees shall know all types of industrial electrical work and he shall be familiar with the National Electrical code. They shall be able to work from drawings or clear sketches and be able to take their own field measurements with minimum to average supervision. They shall be able to work effectively from verbal and written instructions with minimum supervisions. They may be assigned work in other classifications for training. Responsibilities include:Repair, maintain, and install wiring, motors, transformers, generators, lighting, and other electrical systems Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits Assist in isolating defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growler. Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
