What's involved in this role:
The Journeyman Electrician performs the installation and repair of complex electrical systems, conductors and associated materials in related projects. The position frequently oversees less experienced electricians, as well as trains apprentices in the trade. The Journeyman Electrician ensures that all work is performed to the highest standards and meet all safety requirements in the performance of the work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain, inspect, and modify electrical equipment, technologies and processes.
Lead plant projects and act as point of contact for contractors as delegated by the maintenance manager.
Perform daily preventive maintenance of electrical circuits.
Install new electrical circuits.
Bend and install electrical conduit following all appropriate local and national codes.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors and equipment controls.
Help plant production personnel troubleshoot electrical-related production problems.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Understand and comply with NEC electrical standards and codes.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
Provide coverage for maintenance manager when on vacation or otherwise unavailable.

Specific responsibilities:
Operate, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems, including generators, transfer switches, and low-voltage systems.
Monitor, test, and maintain fire alarm, emergency power, and emergency lighting systems; ensure compliance with current codes and regulatory requirements; maintain accurate documentation.
Interpret and apply building and electrical drawings and technical documentation; participate in plan reviews for renovations and new construction projects.

The Role - Electrical Foreman

Work in conjunction with AM, SUP and PM to plan all aspects of project prior to starting on site.
Install all electrical equipment and material per the project's requirements, National Electrical Code, and the requirements of state and local authorities. Ensure the quality of workmanship for these installations.

Your Impact
As an E&I Journeyman, you will be essential to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production and facilities equipment. Your technical expertise in electrical systems and instrumentation will directly support production uptime and safety standards at our manufacturing facility.
What You'll Be Doing
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment
Troubleshoot and repair low and high-voltage circuits
Diagnose and resolve equipment failures using schematics, blueprints, and testing tools
Replace motors, switches, meters, photo-eyes, and other electrical components
Analyze and correct issues in PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
Calibrate instruments for flow, pressure, temperature, and other variables
Install and maintain control and measurement systems
Accurately document work performed in a computerized maintenance system
Start on 1st shift (6am-3pm, Mon-Fri, 45 hours/week), with a transition to rotating 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, including weekends)
What You'll Bring
Valid 5-year industrial journeyman's card (50-414-2 Electrical & Instrumentation)
2-3 years of relevant industrial electrician or technician experience
Experience with control and measurement instrumentation in a manufacturing setting
Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming in closed-loop systems
Familiarity with advanced VS drive systems and web handling equipment
Strong troubleshooting, computer, and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and in a union team environment
Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour swing shift schedule, including weekends

The Role Electrical Foreman
The Electrical Foreman is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating all the workings at a job site including that of a crew of electricians, technicians, apprentices, and pre-apprentices. The Foreman I will establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project and organize and coordinate all project materials and equipment.
The Foreman I will also ensure that all work installed is completed in accordance with the standards set forth by Suburban Electricall work will be completed on budget, on time, and in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. What You'll Do
Manage small to medium size projects as defined by Suburban, often leading crews of 2-5 team members.
Work with tools on only after assuring crew is organized and productive. Work alone for portions of a project.
Actively prepare for and attend kick-off meetings to thoroughly understand scope of work.
Work in conjunction with AM, SUP and PM to plan all aspects of project prior to starting on site.
Install all electrical equipment and material per the projects requirements, National Electrical Code, and the requirements of state and local authorities. Ensure the quality of workmanship for these installations.
Promote and foster activities to obtain employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork, and pride.
Promote a positive customer relationship by maintaining a professional, courteous, and helpful disposition when communicating with a customer, general contractor or another subcontractor even during stressful situations.
Ensure the safety of team members by taking direct preventive measures, conducting effective safety meetings, and ensuring all related standards, rules, and laws are understood and followed.
Perform all necessary project documentation; Daily Logs, SMPs, etc.
What You Bring (Required Experience)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Minimum prior experience leading a portion of a large project or as a Foreman-In-Training.
Minimum of five (5) years experience.
Must possess a State of WI Journeymans License.
Must possess a valid WI drivers license.
Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or able to obtain certification shortly after the start date.
