Electrician Apprentices receive comprehensive training to develop the skills necessary for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components on passenger railcars and locomotives. Training includes both formal classroom instruction and hands-on experience under the guidance of a certified Journeyman Electrician. This is a union-represented position. Starting pay rates are determined by the entry-level provisions outlined in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Summary Electrical Workers are separated into 4 classifications/categories, namely Entry Level, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. As specified below, said classifications are separated by, among other considerations, skill sets, experience, and proficiency.
