Full-time Description
Snapshot Summary: Novel Energy Construction is looking to hire an Electrical Apprentice in Maine. This is a full-time onsite position, the pay range is $26.98 - $40.00 per hour, and the timeframe is Monday-Friday with extended hours and frequent weekend work. After a 60-day probationary period, employees will be eligible to enroll in benefits and accrue sick and vacation time based on hours worked. We are aiming to fill this role immediately and the required certifications and licensure include enrollment in our company-supported Registered Apprenticeship Program (see Required Education and Experience section for more details).
Core Focus Area: The Electrician Apprentice performs a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems.
Requirements
Essential Functions
Take direction from crew foreman with the installation of solar projects in the field.
Maintains a clean job site, picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Shipping, receiving and storing construction or conservation materials and equipment
Loads and unloads trucks using appropriate equipment.
Delivers materials to construction sites and/or storage facilities.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.
Acts as a trouble shooter on current projects.
Maintain and monitors quality standards.
Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA and/or MSHA safety standards.
Post-construction site clean-up performed on a timely basis.
Other Duties as assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently be on-site at the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from low to moderate. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Enrollment in our company supported Registered Apprenticeship program where you will complete both on-the-job hours and course work (after hours), which will be monitored. This is a four-year program and once completed you will be able to test for a Journeyman's license.

Ability to use/understand electrical one-line drawings, electrical schematics, and operate electrical testing equipment.
Properly executing Lock out/Tag out procedures, work permitting, other standard industrial safety processes.

Maintaining required safety and development training per site plan.

Installation and repair of residential and commercial light fixtures and lighting system controls, both interior and exterior. Installation, maintenance and repair of the building fire alarm systems including smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, strobes and fire alarm panels.

Work with mechanical maintenance staff to trouble-shoot and repair HVAC equipment including motors, electric and electronic controls for boilers, heating systems, cooling systems, kitchen equipment, athletic equipment and other campus equipment.

Job Requirements:
Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:
Five-year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of Minnesota Class A Journeyman's license.
Knowledge of electrical codes and other applicable building codes.

Electrical Engineering Technician - Design
This individual would work with our electrical and product line teams on design and integration of electrical/electronic components, sub-systems and systems for several products across an array of equipment from the Ag, Construction, Industrial Power, Power Sports, Lawn and Garden and many other industries. This development effort may include integration design, routing, issue resolution, coordination with suppliers, and much more.
Responsibilities
Route electrical harnesses for various equipment.
Prototype harness production.
Test and verify harnesses.
Create full electrical schematics for mobile equipment.
Optimize electrical component selection to achieve cost targets and machine performance.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing to provide the specifications for production launch.
Work closely with vendors to optimize component selection
Requirements
Electrical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Associates with related electrical experience
Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies

Job Summary:
The role of Lead Engineer/Designer is the main point of contact for the technical aspects of projects with our clients and the team, and a key contributor to company technical standards.
