Updates the Village's GIS inventory of water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer infrastructure and street lighting.
Maintains the water supply and distribution system, including inspection, repair and replacement of water mains, well and pump stations, fire hydrants, valves and valve boxes, b-boxes and elevated and ground storage tanks. Collects and prepares drinking water samples and reports for regulatory testing and compliance.
Maintains the sanitary and storm sewer systems, including inspection, repair and replacement of sewer mains, lift stations, retention and detention basins, inlets, catch basins, manholes and culverts. Performs sewer inspections, televising and flushing.
Maintains the creek system, including inspections, clearing obstructions and outfall and erosion repairs.
Repairs and replaces concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveways, including digging, grading, setting forms and finishing.
Monitors, operates and troubleshoots SCADA system to control water and wastewater systems.
Maintains and installs water meters and performs water shut offs and turn-ons.
Locates underground utilities in response to J.U.L.I.E. requests.
Inspects and maintains vehicles and equipment. Reports malfunctions to supervisor.
Assists with the preparations and tear down/cleanup for events, festivals and special functions.
Assists with snow plowing and ice control operations.
Clears roads and sidewalks and assists with traffic control during hazardous weather or other conditions, including floods and storms.

Performs building alterations, including moving and repairing furniture and equipment, light fixture replacement and painting.
Qualifications:
Ability to operate equipment and machinery such as heavy-duty trucks, aerial trucks, lifts, end loaders, backhoes, excavating equipment, televising cameras, sewer jetters, forklifts, hand and power tools, electrical testing devices and instruments, and requires the ability to maintain and repair complex equipment and machinery.
Knowledge of the standard methods, materials and equipment used in the electrical trade; principles of electricity and basic electronics and their application; and the National Electrical Code and its application.
Ability to learn and use GIS, SCADA, Microsoft Office Suite and most common business software programs.

About the Role
As an Electrician at Zekelman Industries - Atlas Tube in Chicago, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing tube mill production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, product quality, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Shift Manager. This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical aptitude, troubleshooting expertise, and a proactive mindset. Pay: $29.33 - $32.97/hour + Production Incentive
What You'll Do
Maintains electrical systems on production equipment following all defined safety procedures, including LOTO compliance
Ensures guards and safety devices are installed and functioning before equipment is turned over to operations
Monitors and inspects equipment using both manual and computerized maintenance systems
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and manuals to perform effective troubleshooting and repairs
Uses hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, measuring devices, and testing equipment to perform electrical tasks
Troubleshoots process and equipment problems, accurately identifying and resolving electrical faults
Executes breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and electrical changeovers on production lines
Maintains clean, audit-ready work areas after completing electrical tasks
Provides guidance to co-workers and communicates effectively with team members
Reports unresolved safety, quality, or production issues to supervisor promptly
Performs other duties as assigned
Who You Are
Journeyman card, Associate's Degree, or equivalent required (military service considered equivalent to 2-year degree)
2+ years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
Experience in tube mill or steel manufacturing preferred
Skilled in reading schematics, using diagnostic tools, and following maintenance documentation
Capable of basic math and using measuring equipment accurately
Strong communication, teamwork, and listening skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, climbing, and stooping
Proficient in basic computer usage
Maintains regular, full-time onsite attendance per posted schedule
Leads and promotes safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and company policy
Physical Abilities
Must be able to lift, bend, climb, stoop, push, and pull; regularly required to stand and use hands or arms in a physically demanding environment.
