We are a licensed C-10 contractor and operate construction crews in various areas of CA and soon the rest of the U.S. Overview of Position Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of electrical equipment installations; Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, boxes, conduits, feeders, Panels, Commercial Switchgear up to 3000A, Transformers Disconnects and other commercial 208/480V electrical components; Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance; Maintain, repair, install and test switch-gear, transformers, switchboard meters; Communicating with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times. Collaborating with construction workers, plumbers, and other crew members. Trenching for electrical underground Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in commercial properties. Under the direction of the Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer of the Office of ITS Engineering and Support, the incumbent installs, configures, tests and troubleshoots systems and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment that are part of the district's Transportation Management System (TMS). The incumbent works independently at a journey level and engages in complex layout work. This includes process control networks, telecommunications systems, microwave communications systems, video display systems, electrical and mechanical systems that are associated with the Transportation Management Center (TMC) and Field Element Network (FEN). The incumbent also prepares, constructs and installs ITS field equipment as part of the district's capital support program. This position also assists in the preparation and/or review of plans, specifications and cost estimates for projects installing ITS facilities.
