GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballast, motors, etc.
Assists in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly and safe condition.
Accomplishes work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, and national and local codes. Updates as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
Attend Toolbox safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.
Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.

Qualifications
Under close supervision, assists Electrical Test Technician II and III in performing limited tests required by the department.
