Test, repair, and install components of electrical equipment by using power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment - such work may involve climbing, working in elevated positions, tight spaces, and underground facilities -Work with chemical and chemical solutions, which includes, but not limited to, oil, grease, paint, PCB, and asbestos Records completed maintenance, repairs and inspection results. Provide quality information to be able to order required replacement parts Provides and receives technical assistance to customers, associates, manufactures and suppliers regarding standards, procedures, equipment design changes and design flaws via telephone, wireless devices, or in person. Operates pallet jack, forklift, crane, and man lift as required by job assignments Must be able to work excessive overtime and drive under difficult and severe weather and road conditions like fog, snow, all weather. Description:IBEW Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position. This occupation requires repair, installation and maintenance of plant electrical systems. Determines routing, location and methods of installing wires, conduits, electrical equipment, fixtures and accessories, following trade practice, blueprints, wiring diagrams and applicable state, municipal and underwriters' specifications, codes and ordinances. Determine need for repair or replacement, best and safest method of restoring interrupted service. Computes wire gauge, power and load limit requirements when required. Does repair and installation work such as splicing, tapping and insulating high voltage wire, and troubleshoots on hot circuits.
