This is a Fully Qualified Electrician Position.

Under the direction of the Electrician Supervisor, installs, operates, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment in substations, power stations and customer installations within assigned area.
This position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of electrical equipment. These include but are not limited to operating aerial lifts, test, calibrate, and maintain controls, meters, relays, and switches, install, and maintain transformers, capacitors, transducers, reclosers, breakers, and control panels, as well as troubleshoot wiring circuits, voltage regulators, and other electronic equipment. These are completed in accordance with all applicable OSHA regulations, distribution construction standards, and established schedules and safety procedures at Eversource. Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching are performed on a frequent basis. Bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and twisting are performed on an occasional to frequent basis. The heaviest physical demands are required during the moving and handling of 55-gallon drums, capacitor cans, recloser control boxes, bushings, and nitrogen tanks. These activities require handling of up to 25-pounds on a frequent basis, 50-100 pounds on an occasional basis. Heavier tasks may require the assistance of (2) or more co-workers. The work schedule is five (5) eight (8) hour days Monday through Friday.
Candidate must demonstrate safe working practices, can climb and be able to work from heights and in confined and enclosed spaces. Candidates are required to make themselves available at their reporting base within approximately one hour during periods of trouble call assignments.
Performs work in connection with the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment in substations, power stations, and on customer installations within an assigned area. Fully Qualified Electrician with CDL and Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain both. Individual will be expected to be available for routine overtime and emergency work.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
It is preferred that individuals hold a valid
Commercial driver's license (CDL) and satisfactory clean driving record
, but are required to have the ability to acquire and/or maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of hire.
Must be physically able to perform the “essential duties” of the Electrician position, as described above.
Must be able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers.
Candidates must also possess an E1 or E2 license or have successfully completed the TMP (time merit progression) for electrician.
Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required and live within one hour of the reporting location
Must successfully pass the Edison Electric Institute Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) Test, which is a requirement to be selected for this position.

Job Description

This technician performs field activities associated with supporting the installation, maintenance, and servicing of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for commercial customers.
Duties include:
Assist with on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair and calibration after installation.
Uses technical abilities to maintain systems.
Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Physical Requirements:

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. What you will do:
* Assist in service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including but not limited to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
* Assist in the rebuilding of an HVAC unit. Receive detailed direction while sharing the hands-on task responsibilities with Journeyman and Foreman
* Drive a company vehicle to and from jobsite to transport and maintain inventory of hand tools and necessary materials for job completion
* Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
* Basic data entry and ability to navigate the use of email, internet, and word processing programs
* Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication
* Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
* Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, and off-site/online learning modules
* Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
* Wear personal protective equipment when completing service tasks
* Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines
