Hunt Electric has apprentice classifications that reflect each of the four years of the apprentice program. Daily job functions should reflect the expected skill proficiency at a given Apprentice level. An employee’s advancement from one year to the next is based on acceptable job performance and the successful completion of the apprenticeship requirements for the given level. The apprentice must complete the number of hours required for each year in the program (a minimum of 2,000 hours of “on-the-job” training for each year of his / her apprenticeship). A Hunt Electric-sponsored Apprentice is eligible for tuition assistance under the Hunt Tuition Assistance policy.
Major Duties:
- Be enrolled in the appropriate apprentice-level school program
- Have an active Utah State apprentice license
- Be familiar with Hunt company policies and procedures

Job Description
- Assist with the installation of fire alarm equipment and the service, repair and maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision of a licensed Fire Alarm Technician.
- Assist with diagnosing and evaluating industrial fire protection systems that require servicing as well as troubleshoot issues that arise during inspections under direct supervision of a licensed Fire Alarm Technician.

- Some overtime, nights, weekends and on-call hours may be required.
Qualifications
- Experience installing Conduit both EMT and Rigid.
- Work experience, training or education in the installation, maintenance, inspection and repair of alarm systems or related equipment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- May will primarily be in industrial and commercial locations.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain any applicable state licenses.
- A current Driver’s License is preferred.
- Must be able to satisfy Government, Federal and Customs background check requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Assists the Electrical Maintainer with repair and installation work on all electrical and electronic equipment in the plant.
- Inspects electrical equipment, checking motor bearings, lubrication, commutation, excessive vibration and obvious signs of wear or need for adjustment.
- Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
- Analyzes all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service all types of electronic devices and systems.
- Plans details of working procedure to determine material or replacement needs and selects a logical approach to “trouble shooting” and repair problems. Answers trouble calls.
- Makes mechanical and electrical repairs on cranes.
- Occasionally performs arc welding and uses cutting torch in connection with repair and maintenance work on electrical equipment.
- Operates data transmission and receiving equipment to enter, send and receive data.
- Keeps work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
