This entry level maintenance position will be assigned to one of our three Steel facilities in Stark County, Ohio (Gambrinus, Harrison or Faircrest Steel plants). Employees in this position are responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and educational tasks including, but not limited to, class room study, on the job training, and assisting journeymen in completion of electrical maintenance tasks. The Apprentice will conduct interlock checks, specify and procure repair materials and equipment for new and modified installations. The Role: Perform preventative and repair maintenance tasks for electrical and instrumentation throughout the plant (preventative techniques may include thermography, vibration analysis, etc.) Conduct electrical and instrument troubleshooting and repairs on assigned equipment. Specify, install and calibrate new electrical and instrumentation included in plant upgrades and modification. Conduct safety interlock checks on a prescribed frequency; update electrical and instrument loop drawings as required. Manage relevant work orders in the CMMS in support of preventative maintenance (PM) compliance (timely closure, etc.). Updates maintenance files, drawings and documentation. Ordering and control of repair materials. Attend formal classes that support the Journeyman program. Log all necessary hours supporting training and other required documentation. The Person: High School Diploma required. Diploma from a vocational institution in Engineering, Math, Science, Electrical and Instrumentation preferred. Regular attendance and skills advancement requirements from technical college and state journeyman program for eligibility in program and hold a position in the maintenance department.
