Under general supervision, coordinate and conduct general electrical repair work and troubleshooting, perform preventive maintenance, installation services and construction work in accordance with safety standards and fire codes. This position will work 12-hour day shifts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Performs assignments in the layout, installation, repair, alteration, and maintenance of a wide variety of complex electrical equipment such as automatic controls, emergency generators, switchboards, transfer switches, lighting systems, fire alarms and smoke detection systems. Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical problems with a wide variety of electrical equipment, replacing defective parts, reassembles effected equipment and tests for proper operation and safety. Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled or required on all types of electrical equipment as recommended by the manufacturer and on site safety programs. Maintains necessary work records including equipment records, logs, and time sheets. Reads and interprets electrical schematics. Insures that all work meets prescribed standards of quality and insures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes Detects and reports to the Supervisor any unusual conditions, defective materials, faulty equipment, and equipment operating or installed incorrectly.
