Position Responsibilities
The electricalapprentice is partnered with a licensed journeyman electrician and has on-the-job training (OJT) to become an electrician.
You'll help perform electrical installations of a multifamily and commercial nature.
Learn and perform all scopes of large-scale projects, from distribution to rough in, trim and deck work.
Participate in official apprenticeship program and attend classes as required.

Motivated individuals who want to learn the electrical trade and have a high school diploma or GED as well as reliable transportation.
Successfully register, enroll and participate in an electricalapprenticeship program (and remain in good standing) until program is completed.
Able to physically perform the essential functions of the job.
Willing to learn electrical codes and other construction safety requirements.

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Electrician - Night Shift - Mineola.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for assisting in the year-round operation, maintenance and repair of all electrical-related equipment and systems required for continuous and uninterrupted operation. This includes, but is not limited to normal and emergency electrical distribution and generation; normal and emergency lighting and power; fire alarm system operation, maintenance and repair; other alarm systems; Fire Pump testing; new equipment installation; corrective and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems and any other duties which falls under the responsibility of the Engineering Department's Electrical Shop.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned
Troubleshoots electrical related problems. Issues and performs necessary repairs or corrective measures.
Performs repairs and corrective maintenance to electrical systems and equipment correctly with attention to detail and no callbacks.
Performs Preventive Maintenance as assigned to electrical equipment and systems. Capable in the operation and maintenance of the fire alarm system and its components.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of the electrical distribution system, both normal and emergency
Demonstrates proficiency and skill in working with various varieties of electrical equipment, tools and materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or Equivalent. 3 - 5 years Experience in electrical maintenance, repair, or contracting field required. Healthcare or equivalent trade experience. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills. Must demonstrate a working knowledge and skill in all phases of electrical repair and maintenance. Must be able to read and follow technical documents, manuals, drawings, schematics, specifications and blueprints. Must be familiar with the proper operation and maintenance of power and hand tools. Must also be able to meet all of the demands of this position, with no physical impairments or impediments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Other appropriate trade/vocational school graduate. Commercial Electrician License preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
Collaborate with all stagehands, departments and production management to work with first class artists and companies to present cutting-edge, internationally renowned performances and art.
Responsible for performing and supervising electrical and lighting operation, installation and maintenance in the Harvey Theater as a working member of the crew.
Lead, assign and supervise lighting crews performing diverse tasks while simultaneously performing his/her own work assignments.
Load-in, hang, and focus light plots as well as install set install practical lighting and electrics in the BAM Harvey Theater.
Identify crewing needs for productions and events in conjunction with BAM Production Staff and the Crew Chief. Evaluate potential crew qualifications and ensuring they are qualified and match their competencies to position requirements.
Work with Crew Chief and BAM Production Staff to ensure crew consists of a diverse and equitable workforce
Enforce standards of operation in electrics and lighting that are safe for both personnel and equipment.
Collaborate with BAM and Visiting Company Production Staff with advance planning for a show or event by interpreting ground plans and technical drawings.
Create all necessary paperwork based on above information including rental lists, equipment purchases, running lists and expendables
Represent the Electrics Department in production meetings.
Perform lighting and electrical maintenance throughout the BAM Harvey Theater.
Qualifications
10 years experience in lighting and electrical stage work
Advanced knowledge of theatrical and scenic lighting, including the ability to interpret and read technical drawings and designs, and to create and execute the plan to install, operate, maintain and strike said scenery
Work will at times require working irregular hours and standing for extended periods of time while lifting and carrying equipment onstage. It will occasionally require pushing heavy weights or lifting and carrying weights up to 50 pounds with team assistance.

Education and Experience
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent plus completion of trades training to Electrical Journeyman status. Valid Class 5 driver's license is also required. Over 6 years progressive related experience.
