This position oversees the maintenance, installation, modification, and operation of all College electrical systems, including switchgear, lighting and associated controls, transformers, and distribution equipment. The role also includes developing and implementing best practices for system performance and energy management, as well as coordinating and leading internal teams and external vendors. Experience with both commercial and residential electrical systems is required. Regular work hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. Specific responsibilities: Operate, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems, including generators, transfer switches, and low-voltage systems. Monitor, test, and maintain fire alarm, emergency power, and emergency lighting systems; ensure compliance with current codes and regulatory requirements; maintain accurate documentation. Interpret and apply building and electrical drawings and technical documentation; participate in plan reviews for renovations and new construction projects. Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and certifications to enhance system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency; identify opportunities for improvement and assist with budgeting, planning, and implementation of upgrades. Complete work orders promptly and respond to system outages and occupant concerns. Coordinate and manage external contractors and internal teams on project work and preventative maintenance programs across all College properties. Perform private utility locates to support safe and accurate work. Undertake other duties as assigned, including assisting with non-electrical work orders, participating in the On-Call rotation, and supporting the Snow Removal program. Required Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma Electrical Associates Degree, Apprenticeship, or greater. 3-5 years of experience in the electrical field required. WI Journeyman Electrician License. WI Master Electrician License is a plus. Essential Functions * Installs, services and repairs wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices and systems in an industrial or commercial setting. The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for working with a tight nit team to maintain line integrity, safety, production and quality standards. The Maintenance Electrician will also be creating solutions both proactively and reactively in a fast-paced environment to maintain and improve line efficiency. Basic Qualifications * Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing facility trouble shooting industrial electrical and electronic systems. * Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams * Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS * An associate degree in industrial Electricity/Automation related field or * Minimum of three years' experience as an Industrial Electrician * Wiring 3 phase motors, starters, and overloads * Must be able to program VFD's * Knowledge of pressure sensors, flow meters, temperature sensors, and reading and assimilating any technical documentation to assist in the use or repair of any control device Desired Qualifications * Previous experience in the food industry helpful but not necessary Competencies * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. * Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Work Environment * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial truck. Working knowledge of NEC electrical codes and proficient conduit bending skills. Experience with panel boards, transformers, and distribution equipment preferred. State journeymen or Masters license is a plus. 2-3 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical work preferred. Medium voltage and electronics experience is advantageous. Job Summary Electricians are responsible for electrical assembly and installation in addition to inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on the fire apparatuses. Electricians should have thorough knowledge of schematics, prints, and heavy duty automotive electrical systems.
