We are looking for a Journey Level 06 Electrician that has experience installing and programming low voltage electrical construction projects including fire alarm systems (required), suppression systems, access control, cameras, surveillance for new construction and services or modifications of existing systems.
Responsibilities
Install and configure low voltage electrical systems, mainly fire alarm systems, based on blueprints, specifications, and local electrical codes. This includes wiring, cabling, and connecting various devices and components.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues in low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Integrate different low voltage systems to work seamlessly together, ensuring compatibility and functionality. Collaborate with other trades and contractors to coordinate system installations.
Conduct testing and inspections of low voltage systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Provide certification documentation as required by local authorities.
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Create as-built drawings and documentation for future reference and compliance.
Interact with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical support, and offer solutions. Communicate effectively to explain the functionality of low voltage systems and address any concerns.
Stay updated on local, state, and national electrical codes related to low voltage systems. Ensure all installations and modifications comply with regulatory standards.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Implement proper safety measures during installations and maintenance activities.
Requirements
Washington State 06 Electrical License
Proven experience as a low voltage electrician in commercial settings.

Must have knowledge in the areas of troubleshooting, service and repair of motors, drives, PLCs and electrical systems. Must be physically capable of performing journey level job tasks. Must adhere to all Port policies and procedures. Must have the ability to read and accurately comprehend manuals, specifications, memorandums, regulations and policies pertaining to job responsibilities and employment requirements and be able to assist in estimating job costs. Must be attentive to learning new methods and equipment that will improve and enhance a safe working environment, expedite job completion and promote efficiency. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and have a communication style that builds positive inter-departmental and customer relations. The ability to understand and communicate how personal job performance relates to the achievement of the Port's goals and the ability to interact effectively and positively with the public and with co-workers is required. Must have the ability to follow instructions and work independently, be punctual and have good attendance and be physically capable of performing the demands of the job.

Work Tasks Include:
1. Running cables, lines and leads, terminations/connector fabrication, packing of cable transits and harnessing cables aboard vessels.

3. Test internal circuits of major units of electrical equipment for continuity, short circuits, and grounds and measure electrical quantities and compare with established values.
4. Inspect trip shafts, toggle linkages and all other mechanical parts to see that they operate freely without binding.
5. Inspect mechanical and electrical connections including mounting bolts and screws; draw out disconnect devices and control wiring.
6. Detect and locate grounds, open circuits and short circuits in distribution generators and systems. Maintain and repair telephones, circuits, and associated equipment.
7. Install new power and lighting circuits.
8. Must be familiar with all safety procedures pertaining to or where to obtain electrical procedures. Must be very knowledgeable of work/safety procedures and manual.
9. Implement Lock-out Tag-out for work being performed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
-The working environment in the shipyard varies from a normal office conditions to working outside where precipitation, wind, extreme cold, and extreme heat and high humidity are not unusual. When working inside of vessels the environment may be smoky, hot or cold, and have low levels of illumination may be present.
-There are heavy equipment and power tools operating almost at every location. Depending on the type of work available, reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the job requirements.
-Personnel can expect to work in a variety of spaces from confined areas accessible only by manholes to high platforms accessible only by scaffolding or ladders. Work may also be accomplished using mechanical lifts as working platforms.

Seattle Rep is seeking a Stage Management Apprentice for the 2025-2026 season. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in the coordination and execution of all aspects of a production, from rehearsal to performance. The apprentice will work closely with stage managers, assistant stage managers, and production staff, learning essential skills in scheduling, communication, and leadership. This role offers opportunities to assist on Mainstage shows, new play workshops, and special events, gaining insight into how stage management ensures the smooth operation of each production.
Typical Duties Include:
Stage Management & Production Tasks: (75%)
Assist in preparing rehearsal rooms by setting up furniture, props, and technical equipment.
Track blocking, props, and costumes throughout rehearsals to maintain continuity.

Create and maintain production paperwork, including contact sheets, rehearsal reports, and performance reports.

About this position:
We are seeking a qualified electrician to join our campus facilities team. This position will work closely with other trade leads and among the public to provide regular facility maintenance as well as production support of events.
The work requires a journey level knowledge of electrical concepts, principles, methods and codes and a full knowledge of the operational aspects of both electrical equipment and systems.
Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical equipment or control systems such as boilers, pumps, motors, generators, air compressors, fire alarms, refrigerators, overhead doors, electrical equipment on bridges or other electrical devices
Install, repair and maintain all electrical systems under the direction of the electrical crew chief
Teamwork and clear, concise, communication with staff, venue operators and the public are essential for safe and efficient operations
Troubleshoot systems which include some electronics
Install lighting fixtures, power outlets, control devices, heaters, thermostats, computer cables or cathodic protection equipment
Run conduit and pull wire for new and/or existing electrical installations
Modify or rewire existing electrical installations
Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment
Purchase and/or order electrical supplies or parts from vendors, warehouse or distributors
Review blueprints, electrical schematics, project plans and specifications of electrical equipment installations
Replace ballasts, drivers & fuses, changes lamps in LED, fluorescent, HID and incandescent lighting fixtures
Install temporary power systems for special events
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Requires completion of an accepted four-year apprenticeship training program and journey-level electrician status (or an equivalent combination of education and/or training and/or experience).
You will be successful in this role if you have:
State of Washington, (EL01) - Journey Level, Electrical License
Ability to work collaboratively with other work units and clients
Comprehensive knowledge of current electrical systems, including working knowledge of computerized lighting and control systems
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Ability to assess and plan work tasks and provide progress reports
Ability to navigate computer-based email, time keeping, materials management, work order management system and progress reporting
Monitor and communicate clear and concise on phones and VHF radios
Highly motivated to fulfill the high standards of the Seattle Center maintenance division
Excellent customer service skills and experience
Knowledge and skill in observing safety issues and requirements
Continuing history of industry development
License, Certification and Other Requirements:
Washington State Driver's license
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time
Lift objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
Work outdoors in all types of weather
Work in confined spaces or at heights from ladders and scaffolds
The shop operates 7 days a week, 18 hours per day, requiring staff to participate in off-shift work
Additional Information
The full pay range for this step-progression position is $56.21 - $60.80 per hour. New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $56.21 hourly. Current City employees' starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions.

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician; OR full journey status as an electrician in a union; OR four years' applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
Examination Requirements:
The examination (including written, E & T and oral components) will consist of a scored evaluation of the applicant's training and experience as an electrician or electrician's helper; knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment of the electrician trades and standard safety precautions; ability to work form blueprints, plans and sketches to estimate material and time required for job completion; and ability to maintain hand and power tools required to the trade.
