Summary
In the role of Helper/Apprentice, you will play a pivotal role by assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of garage doors, dock equipment, automatic pedestrian doors, and related systems. Prior experience is not a prerequisite, as we provide thorough on-the-job training.
Duties
Assist with the installation of garage door products per manufacture specifications.
Gather and prepare materials needed for install and service jobs.
Maintain paperwork and records as necessary.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Naval Electrical Engineering Technician
Electrical Apprentice Job 32 miles from Poquoson
THOR Solutions is seeking a motivated Naval Electrical Engineering Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) S63 Department in Virginia Beach, VA. The Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Department is charged with ensuring the successful deployment of advanced UNREP systems and continued sustainment of legacy UNREP systems. The ideal candidate will have strong work ethic, desire to learn, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Typical Responsibilities:
Provide electrical technician engineering services for installation and maintenance support of the E-STREAM, current UNREP, and prototype UNREP systems.
Review and provide input to new or revised Technical Manuals, Engineering Drawings, and other technical documentation.
Provide input for logistics related issues.
Process Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).
Plan, perform, and report on factory acceptance testing.
Location: Full time onsite at the Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach, VA.
Travel: Significant travel (>50% of the time) required, to various CONUS/OCONUS (UK and Greece)/overseas shipyard locations and also at sea. Individual trips can last for a month or longer as required by the customer's schedule.
Security Clearance Eligibility Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must either already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance (highly preferred); OR be eligible for a new Secret security clearance prior to start.
Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Hands-on technical and instructor work in a waterfront/shipboard environment. May involve: repetitive motion, talking, traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches), or vision.
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma/GED equivalent.
At least seven (7) years of recent, relevant experience providing naval electrical and similar support.
Experience obtained in a shipyard, as a defense contractor, or as active duty military in a Navy, Coast Guard, or other DoD environment is preferred.
Possess knowledge of UNREP systems, shipyard environments, and program management to effectively install new systems, such as E-STREAM, on multiple platforms. This includes both back-fit and forward-fit installations.
Must be willing to spend up to a month on travel in various shipyard locations around the Eastern United States or even possibly OCONUS/Overseas locations such as Singapore
