Working Conditions
Internal Little or no work is performed indoors. Incumbent participates in clearing the clutter in the stockroom, garage, general office space, work vehicles, other line areas or any other communal environment as needed.
External Work is routinely performed where there is exposure to outside atmospheric conditions or extreme heat/cold or moisture and exposure to traffic while performing line work functions. Work is occasionally performed at heights exceeding 100 feet and around water, on uneven and slippery terrains in unsafe environments near rivers.
Special Frequently work requires scheduled and unscheduled overtime and incumbent will be on call after hours and on weekends to respond to emergency calls regarding line maintenance/service restoration.
Physical Demands
Work involves standing and walking for most of the time, and occasionally requires working at heights exceeding 100 feet above ground. Work routinely includes pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 120 pounds, lifting objects weighing up to 75 pounds above your head and working with objects at shoulder height such as tools, crossarms with pins, insulators and braces. Working conditions, equipment failure and workloads during peak periods may cause increased stress levels. Incumbents must have the physical ability to perform difficult manual tasks as required to operate the transmission and distribution system.

Accountability
This position is directly responsible for successfully completing assignments related to transmission and distribution operations, repair and maintenance and developing the skills necessary to proceed onto next classification in T & D Linework.
Standard Work Day: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Performs restoration activities as assigned during emergency and service restoration situations, to include after-hours and weekends.
Requirement: Must live within 35 minutes of the assigned district office under normal driving conditions.

Working Conditions

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
+ Uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
+ Gathers and feeds brush into a woodchipper.
+ Responsible for temporary traffic control and equipment (cones, signs and flagging).
+ Ensures the safety of self and others by following company safety policies.
+ Adheres to Region Policy Manual
+ Applies herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal to treat remote areas.
+ Services/maintains neat, clean, and mechanical order of truck, chipper, and other equipment.
+ Responsible for daily inventory on truck.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Able to work scheduled work hours.
+ Can obtain:
+ written CDL permit within 4 weeks of hire date.
+ Valid CDL within 120 days of hire date.
+ Herbicide license within 120 days of hire date.
+ Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
+ Willing to pay union dues.
**Education & Experience**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
+ Entry-level position, no experience required.
+ Previous experience is a plus.
**Pre-Screen**

**License & Certifications:**

**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Provide preventative and predictive maintenance of electrical systems, conduct daily rounds and readings.
+ Perform successful installation and repair of electrical systems and wiring including but not limited to: power distribution systems, LED lighting systems, control systems, control panels, components of machinery and equipment, data and low voltage systems.
+ Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily reports outlining progress and new issues.
+ Identify when and external contractor/vendor is needed and work in collaboration with contractor/vendor to complete work.
+ Maintain inventories of electrical materials.
+ Participate in winterization and spring start-ups on applicable systems.
+ Requests materials, parts, tools equipment and services needed for work assignments; order and pick up materials and supplies from outside vendors as appropriate; prepare cost estimates for jobs.
+ Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
+ Troubleshoot problems and provide technical assistance to staff in solving maintenance, mechanical and repair problems.
+ Ensure that work complies with applicable codes and regulations.
+ Read diagrams, blueprints, specifications and manuals for installations and repairs.
+ Prepare a variety of correspondence, procedures and periodic and special reports of work performed.
+ Use standard office equipment including a computer in the course of work
+ Drive company vehicles to work sites and attend meetings.

**Job Requirements:**
+ 4 years electrical trade school; Journeyman with 2 years minimum hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance and operational tasks.
+ Ability to troubleshoot controls and electrical systems with amp meters, voltmeters, tracers and recording devices.
+ Ability to read electrical schematics, electrical prints, wiring diagrams and nameplates.
+ Ability to troubleshoot variable frequency drive (VFD) devices and controls.
+ Thorough understanding of low voltage and high voltage systems.
+ Thorough understanding of single phase and three phase AC circuits.
+ Understanding of electrical codes.
+ Extensive technical knowledge of the installation, repair and maintenance of facility systems.
+ Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
+ Ability to determine problems and effectively manage/troubleshoot issues in a timely fashion.

Job Description
We are seeking motivated and reliable HVAC service apprentices to join our team. As a service apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to assist in diagnosing, servicing and maintaining HVAC systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys problem solving and wants to learn the ins and outs of the HVAC service industry.
Responsibilities
Assist lead service technician with the diagnosis and repair of heating and cooling systems including furnaces, boilers and heat pumps.
Help troubleshoot mechanical issues
Perform preventative maintenance
Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles.
