POSITION SUMMARY: The Instrumentation and Electrical Forman is responsible for planning, supervising, performing and coordinating all phases of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems and service work in new or remodeled facilities. Also responsible for planning the daily activities for crew of workers. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Production: Ability to interpret specifications and read blueprints Assist in lay out of work for crew Preplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job schedule Monitor quality control of work in place by craft workers Order and coordinate delivery of necessary materials Comply with all documentation requirements and fill out all project related reports, such as: Daily Reports, Safety Reports, ESRs, Inspection Reports, etc. Coordinate equipment needs, ensure operators are qualified and ensure that all equipment is maintained, and repairs are done in a timely manner Support jobsite Superintendent to coordinate activities of individual projects May perform related trade work as required Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice Implement better methods of production in all aspects of job to strengthen best practices within Wanzek Construction, Inc. Other duties as assigned Quality: Monitor crew installation for quality issues Monitor work areas to ensure quality work is being completed Look for ways to improve safety, quality and productivity Safety: Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures Train and instruct crew members in safe work practices for assigned tasks. Audit safe work practices, ensuring PPE is available and used properly SUPERVISORY: Assist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing, hiring, training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the field Directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of craft workers Complete ESRs for all employees with a change in job status (transfer, laid off, terminated) Conduct regular performance reviews of crewmen Manage up to six or more employees and Foreman Conduct regular performance reviews Train and mentor new workers EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience NCCER Certification/License (preferred) Minimum 1 years of experience in electrical foreman role Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations. When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors. Set a personal example of safe behavior. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volume Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards Other may duties may be assigned Maintain in-depth relations with all members of their team and your supervisor. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks. Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals. Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions. This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.). Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights. Job Description: An Electrical Apprentice possesses basic knowledge of new construction and demo electrical power installation including but not limited to alterations additions and /or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment with in the electrical industry. Apprentice Electricians are responsible for planning, diagram, install, and repair electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels in addition to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit (pipe or tubing), and pull wire through conduit. Consistently test circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components, using instruments; such as the ohmmeter and other testing equipment. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Dig trenches or hole for installation of conduit or supports, hand holes, man holes and foundations. Install copper-clad ground rods, using a manual post driver. Break up concrete, using air hammer, to facilitate installation, construction or repair of equipment. Transport tools, materials, equipment and supplies to work site by hand truck, or heavy motorized truck. Raise, lower or position equipment tools and materials using hoist hand line or block and tackle. Inform journeyman of material needs. Maintain tools and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order. Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. Thread conduit ends, connect couplings and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand tools. Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools. Clean work area and tools. Competencies: AP1: Must be able to interpret and follow the National Electric Code and comply with state and local building codes. Must have all the tools located on the Apprentice Tool List. Must be enrolled or scheduled to enroll in electrical apprenticeship program. Must maintain valid apprenticeship card and have it on your person at all times during work hours. Must be capable of following instructions, have good communication skills, and the ability to retain information. Must be capable of identifying materials used in the trade. Completion of required safety trainings. Recommended completion of (16) electrical continuing education credits. Must complete OSHA 10. AP2: Must be capable of installing raceways, PVC, EMT, Rigid, Flex, IMC & MC up to 1 ¼” hand bend with supervision. Employee must have one (1) year of experience in the electrical trade. Must have all tools listed in the Apprentice Tool List. Must maintain valid apprenticeship card and have it on your person at all times during work hours. Lift, push, and pull using proper techniques up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 200 pounds occasionally. Work in confined spaces, underneath, over and next to moving equipment safely. * Can walk and stand for work periods for up to 10 hours when needed with 2 - 15 minute breaks and 1 half hour lunch break. Overtime required to cover department absences / work up to 12 hours with 3 - 15 minute breads and 1 half hour lunch break * Ensures compliance with all company policies. * Works in tandem with maintenance/planner to maximize the effectiveness of the maintenance work order system to utilize MP2. * Performs all electrical preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled * Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, work orders, and communication with incoming shift * Ability to work on high voltage and 120 - 480 vac equipment, starters, motors, vfd's, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc * Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required * Read Schematics and blue prints in order to interpret, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues to properly and safely repair * Perform electrical repairs and upgrades of machinery and equipment to ensure proper operations * Builds and maintains outstanding employee relations with other departments. * Read and interpret HMI panels to troubleshoot production line faults * Performs electrical and distribution Lock Out / Tag Out method steady with customary safety protocol * Facilitate to ensure all electro and mechanical safety requirements follow Newly Weds Foods and OSHA standards * Ability to climb stairs, ladders and ability to work at heights * Performs other duties as assigned. * Flexible in scheduling to meet business needs / over time required * Provide 'on call' coverage as needed ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Leadership and Management * Creates an environment that encourages and rewards teamwork and collaboration, both internally and externally * Developing problem solving skills, implements solutions to solve root cause problems.
