ElectricalDesigner (Substation) The position falls within the substation department of the organization. The Designer will develop construction drawings for substations projects. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * With scoping information, the substation one-line drawing, and general guidance from Design Engineer, develop substation design layouts, plan views, and section views in 2-D and 3-D
* Independently develop 3-D models of Electrical Substation features and components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, etc. using Inventor
* Develop layout of parts and assemblies in 2-D and 3-D
* Modify and/ or update existing models, assemblies, and layouts to reflect changes to the design
* Work with part naming and numbering conventions; and file naming and management protocols
* Create or modify physical drawings such as single line diagrams, station location plans, electrical assemblies, cable and conduit plans, cable schedules, grounding plans, duct bank designs and layouts, and other details and drawings that will provide sufficient detail and information to construct an electrical substation with guidance of Sr designers and project lead engineer
* Use ProjectWise for project documentation to track all design modifications and new designs
* Coordinate with people from other departments who are involved in a design project
* Identify and initiate corrective action when substation project objectives are not being met

Job Purpose
To contribute to the development of functioning prototypes that will eventually become production All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS), researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.
Key Accountabilities
Develop complex component and system layouts for All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) prototype vehicles using computer-aided design software that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites with limited supervision. Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings that result in setting the final specifications of global All Terrain Vehicles and Side by Side vehicles (ATV/SxS) new models and mass production vehicles. Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.
Establish or contribute to establishing cost targets for responsible parts that contribute to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets through optimizing difficult part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas.
Create and manage schedule of individual work to ensure deadlines are met, coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with limited supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.
Generate high-level ideas and contribute to building strategies that support the evolution of new technologies. Support or lead maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with limited supervision.
Support market quality themes with limited supervision. Utilize problem-solving methods to analyse root causes. Develop and implement configuration management specs as needed with little supervision.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, etc)
Required Experience:
5 or more years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in Powersports or Automotive field.
Decisions Expected
Propose specifications and drawings.
Prioritization of individual workload.
Balance of Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QDC) for basic situations in individual area of responsibility.
Working Conditions
Travel: Average of 1-3 times monthly. Amount varies based on project demands/responsibilities, conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.
Physical: Primarily works at a desk or scope; frequent keyboarding. Limited kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching or bending.

Job Description
JOB FUNCTION:
1. The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for all electrical aspects of an assigned project.
2. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and communicate team priorities.
3. May be asked to assist with the training and development of team members.
4. Knowledgeable with all aspects of MPW equipment and able to create high-level design concepts based on sales level information. Interact with internal and external customers at all levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
1. Follow all safety rules, regulations and ensure all personnel abide by safety guidelines.
Design
2. Will lead and manage projects using industry best practices for, but not limited to:
3. Electrical Power Distribution Systems (480VAC 3Ph to Low Voltage Control Power)
4. Control System Architecture including Safety, Instrumentation, PLC, and network design.

Programming
8. Competent in PLC and HMI programming following MPW's standard programming practices, considering safety at all levels in the program.
9. Program new systems based on developed Control Narratives and P&IDs.
10. Ability to validate programs from others against MPW and Industry best practices.
Testing and Quality Control
11. Will develop and maintain MPW testing procedures and quality control standards for complex equipment.
12. Will assist with team oversight to ensure procedures are followed to ensure proper system functionality and achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
13. Test equipment following developed schedules and plans, communicate testing status to all levels within MPW.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. This position handles workforce, equipment, and customer relations in multiple, geographically dispersed locations.
2. Due to the nature of the business as a 24/7 service company, non-traditional availability may be required as a regular part of the job.
3. Travel to field services sites, and customer sites as needed. Up to 60 nights travel required.
4. This position is a member of the MPW Management Team and called upon to facilitate the performance of all of members of MPW.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering with 1-year minimum in engineering related field
2. Associate degree with 3-years minimum technical experience dealing directly with power distribution, control system design and programming, control system networking.
3. Practical knowledge in Power and Controls design. Experience with Allen Bradley control systems preferred. Factory Talk experience preferred.
4. Practical knowledge of Ethernet I/P Networking
5. Experience with AutoCAD drafting preferred.
6. Familiarity with NEC electrical codes and compliance.
