Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electrical Engineer / Principal Electrical Engineer and with experience in aircraft subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Vehicle Organization in Melbourne, FL.
Candidate may be involved in multiple aspects of aircraft subsystem development including electrical design, analysis, harness design, requirements, and working shipside to help troubleshoot issues.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Developing aircraft electrical wiring designs of a functional system including the selection of aircraft-type conductors and electro-mechanical components such as connectors, backshells, relays, switches, circuit breakers, terminal junction systems, termination hardware, etc in accordance with SAE AS 50881, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and proven commercial practices.
Familiarity with EMI shielding and separation requirements.
Experience with designing electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS) using ECAD software tools such as Siemens (Mentor Graphics) Capital Harness, Zuken or equivalent
Familiarity working with harness fabrication shops.
Working independently under general supervision and as part of a large multi-disciplined team.
Working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Position may be filled as either a Electrical Engineer (Level 2)/ Principal Electrical Engineer (Level 3) depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
The basic qualifications of the Engineer Electrical position are a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university AND 2 years of related electrical engineering experience.
The basic qualifications of the Principal Engineer Electrical are a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering AND 5 years of engineering experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems, OR Master's degree AND 3 years of engineering experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Licensed engineer in the State of Florida, but if not, must have a current NCEES record to be able to obtain a Florida license.
Must be in good standing and without past disciplinary actions.
Must have strong program management experience.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
