Essential Functions:
Maintain Project Records during all phases of work.
Assemble and distribute submittals and O&M's.
Create and maintain RFI, CO, ASI and drawing logs.
Track Daily Reports.
Follow up to ensure RFI's are priced and responded to timely.
Ensure punch list items are addressed.
Estimating Support:
Support estimating efforts as requested by Estimators.
Estimating support may include counting fixtures, obtaining quotes from subcontractors and equipment suppliers, and preparing final bids for submission to the customer.
Field Support:
Project Engineers may be located in the main office or on the job site.
When stationed on the job site, the Project Engineer will be responsible for maintaining drawings by incorporating changes and ensuring the correct information is distributed to the field staff.
Tracking documentation as described above may be performed in the office or on site.
Project Engineers support multiple projects when required.
Career Path:
The Project Engineer position is an entry level position in the Construction Industry. Experienced Project Engineers may have the opportunity to move into Project Manager roles as openings come available.
Qualifications and Education:
The preferred candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding customer service and extraordinary organizational skills. They will have a sense of responsibility and ownership for the project.

The majority of ElectricalEngineering co-ops and interns enter into the following positions:
Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Project Engineers work on a variety of real-world electrical and instrumentation projects in a refinery setting. During your time at MPC, you will develop and utilize project management skills including scope alignment, cost and schedule development, and teamwork through multiple engineering phases. You will also support the area teams. We are committed to developing engineers into professional project managers who successfully manage projects of all sizes.
Reliability Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineers troubleshoot Electrical & Instrumentation issues at the refinery. As a reliability intern, you will help analyze failures of equipment, develop solutions for recurring equipment difficulties, submit Project Request Forms (PRF's) to implement solutions, and understand equipment maintenance strategies. There will be opportunities to use electrical analysis software to solve coordination issues and run Arc Flash studies for the power system, as well as learning and understanding about how our critical Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) are applied.
Process Control / Technical Service Engineers can work on a wide array of projects in support of the process control systems installed throughout the refinery and products movements areas. The process control systems in the refinery provide real-time control and data acquisition functions in support of operating the refinery process and electrical equipment. Typical college co-op assignments include the following: troubleshooting system power supply problems, control system programming, hardware and software lifecycle replacement projects, installing and troubleshooting communication networks and monitoring control system performance metrics.

Prior experience with ABB Symphony and Allen Bradley systems is preferred, as is familiarity with coal combustion, steam systems, power generation, and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards.
Successful applicants will have the ability to interpret electrical schematics, analyze technical processes, and develop engineered solutions under varying constraints. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves collaboration with plant staff, vendors, and other departments. The position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, often under pressure or in demanding plant environments.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Four-year degree in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Valid Alaska driver's license
Experience with or the ability to rapidly learn control systems used in electrical utility, GMS/EMS, or industrial process environments

Candidate will provide construction engineering services on several simultaneous federal projects ranging in value up to tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars in construction value.
Experience with “Large” projects are defined as a construction value of at least $100 million or more.
Candidate will be responsible for site observation and reporting on multiple assigned projects to government personnel.
Candidate will provide technical and administrative support.
Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
Deliver recommendations to government personnel regarding compliance with contract provisions.
Candidate should be prepared to review and interpret plans and specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders and claims.
Provide field surveillance and prepare daily detailed reports covering all pertinent factors affecting cost and engineering considerations.
Participate in pre-construction conferences with government personnel.
Interaction with client and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Previous experience with US Army Corp of Engineers projects will also be viewed as a plus.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably in Structural Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of engineering; construction and contract administration experience.
Experience on projects with government clients, preferred.
US Army Corp of Engineering or USACE projects is preferred as well.
Experience with Large "campus" type project is preferred
Mechanical Systems experience is preferred.
