Key Responsibilities * Provide technical guidance on the conceptual design of RF wireless communication systems and technology in general, and with particular focus on public safety applications. * Develop detailed requirements for client RF wireless communication systems and related subsystems. * Provide technical guidance when procuring and implementing client contracts: developing proposals, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, implementing projects, and providing quality assurance. * Define and document technical best practices for NYSTEC and mentor junior team members on same. * Plan implementation roadmaps for client system upgrades and replacements. * Develop effective collaborative working relationships with county and state agency clients. * Work closely within the NYSTEC project team and communicate project updates, risks, and issues. * Collaborate closely with the NYSTEC project team to share knowledge and accomplish key project objectives. About you: Required Qualifications * Background working with public safety wireless communications and/or other critical communications applications. * Experience with RF principles, coverage modeling, RF design, RF measurement, and optimization. * Working knowledge of Project 25 (P25) and analog radio systems. * Working knowledge of microwave, circuit-based, and fiber backhaul systems. * Experience with land mobile radio (LMR) site equipment components, configuration, and system testing. * Proficient written and verbal communications skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage and develop key relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking with a customer focus. * Ability to travel throughout New York State, interacting with clients and employees at client and corporate offices. Preferred/Desired Qualifications * Experience participating in the business development and sales process (proposal writing, presentations, etc.). * Familiarity with other wireless technologies, such as Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), Wi-Fi, long-term evolution (LTE), and embedded systems., * Professional level certification in wireless communications (e.g., Electronics Technicians Association [ETA], certified wireless network administrator [CWNA], Microsoft wireless communications engineering technologies). * Ability to serve as a mentor to less experienced personnel. The target base salary for this position is $109,639.00 to $145,271.00 per year. Responsibilities and duties of the Instrumentation and Controls Specialist role Reporting to the Heating Plant Supervisor, you will be responsible for: Lead the upkeep and reliability of Williams College's Combined Heat & Power (CHP) facility, including steam turbines, diesel generators, steam boilers, and Siemens software systems. Collaborate with external vendors to support and enhance plant software, including control and valve tuning, with opportunities for additional training and development. Oversee the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the facility. Carry out scheduled calibrations of transmitters, control valves, and associated equipment. Service and monitor air compressors, dryers, and related systems to ensure continuous instrument and plant air supply, with accurate data recording and logging. Organize and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities to keep the plant running smoothly and efficiently. Promote high standards within the team and provide training on instrumentation and controls. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all plant systems, operations, and emergency procedures, referring to technical manuals when required. Ensure strict adherence to operating procedures, safety policies, and lock-out/tag-out requirements. Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring that all employees and contractors follow established guidelines. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Must hold a valid driver license.
